lulz at the fickle ND groupthink d00ds. guy had a bad stretch. people were falling all over themselves to worship him even after the flazzu loss. "DiD GolSon'sS HEiSMaN StAlK *IMPROVE* ToNIGHT?".

i don't know exactly what flazzu's QB options were going into the season (if it's that crappy guy that started the clemson game, lulz), but looks like a great pickup for them to keep the train rolling in a shitty conference.

This is one that I'm on Brick's side for.

One bad stretch. Dude is dynamic and will instantly improve Flazzu. Maguire? There's your real lulz...

McGuire sucks

This is good stop gap for a year.

My inside sources cousin says he had great spring and was way ahead of Zaire and is sad he left.

Turnovers are a big issue, but there's a lot to like about his game IMO.

Nice pickup for FSU.

Is there anyone in the pipeline for 2016 once he moves on?

Deandre johson and deondre francois are both true freshman and big time recruits

Also have a kid Malik Henry 5* who moved from cali to Img Academy for senior year and is enrolling in january

what they do with Golson offensively will be a good indicator for the future with Henry.

situation is very similar to oregon. loaded at skill positions and don't want to waste a year. the trogs who are lauding lockie's "perfect" spring ball performance should die.

oregon so loaded charles nelson is moving to DB. best skill group they've ever had, no doubt in my mind /unclerico

Golson is better than McGuire. It'll be interesting to see what Golson we see though. Bill Connelly had an interesting point in his ND preview where the stats showed Golson committed more turnovers when the D started sucking. Since the D was playing poorly, Golson was trying too hard to win games hisself. Think that fits with how he played in 2012 with a great D. Provided the FSU D is solid, Golson will be fine.

Defense took a big step backwards last year with the new defensive coordinator and a bunch of juniors taking it easy waiting for the NFL.

Jury still out on the defensive coordinator this year

Watching the Oregon transfer dominate uw last year was a lot of fun
i have not seen him outside of sportscenter extended highlights.

wait a couple of weeks. some trog flazzu contrarians will start talking about mcguire's "experience in the system" and "learning under JAMEIS". people are extremely insane when it comes to QBs.

i mean, some oregon fans think lockie will win the job. some journalists are creating some kind of drama around it too. morans mang. you don't bring in a new QB for one year unless you absolutely plan on starting him. "BUT THE CORCHES SAY GOOD THINGS ABOUT LOCKIE!!" uh, yeah, of course. actions speak louder than words.

lockie looked very bad every time i saw him come in on backup duty. all of a sudden he throws a couple of screen passes and lobs to wide open guys in the spring game and "oh boy we gotta competition!!"

also lockie is 6'2". how is midget QB gonna see over the line?

even aaron brooks had a perfect preseason game @Reel

it will be a ruckus if oregon loses at sparty. mang.

I dont think there is a movement of Maguire supporters out there that will push for him to start just because he has been in the system for 3 years. It isnt we think he sucks. It is just he hasnt shown us anything that would make us believe he will be anything more than avg. Avg isnt bad if we have a team ready to destroy the compeition like in 2013. In 2015 this team is very very young and replacing a lot of key elements on offense. So avg will get us 8-9 wins providing the defense improves from last years debacle. I think Golson provided he earns the starting spot and learns the play book can get us another win or two. He wont make us NC material. But I think it gives us a shot at winning the Atlantic and possible the ACC now. I'll take that any year but especially this year given the youth we have on this team.

2016 watchout. We will have several good QBs, Cook will be a junior, offensive line a year older, and our receiving corps matured and very deep.

This team is ridiculously young. Last years team was pretty young as well. But we are getting younger as the years go on due to having a record 29 players drafted over the last 3 cycles. That doesn't count the undrafted free agents that ended up signing contracts. We have probably put ~40ish players into the league in 3 years. That is a hell of a thing to go through while playing at NC caliber play.

But we have also been recruiting as well as anybody in the country. So he have the talent. Just not the experience. 2015 will be a tough year by recent standards. Though Golson helps and should get us at least one more win imo provided he plays well. However 2016 is looking good.

i feel golson gets us more than just 1 win, simply because i think fsu loses 4 or 5 games with Smag at the helm, he is just not good.

I was being conservative. I think he could get us 1-2 more wins. Maybe a 3rd if he really plays well. This team has more issues than at QB. The offensive line will be a work in progress through the entire year. And the WR corps needs to find a leader. And Charles Kelly may not be the answer.

Anyways after reading that article. I'm not sure it means anything detrimental to FSU. All the shitty schools have the most experience and top the chart.

i think the Line will play well, worried about WR though, always seems to take the WRs 3 years in jimbo's sytem to really get it, except for Rashad.

Defense a big ?? under charles kelly i agree.

So so. Our OOC minus Florida is a joke. But we have to play @GT and @ Clem while Louisville and Miami are at home. @BC on a Friday night worries me. At least it isnt in Oct when it could be raining and 50.

Man who portrayed Chief Osceola at FSU killed in gumbo spices argument

A man who formerly portrayed Chief Osceola at Florida State University was killed in Panama City Beach this week after an argument over gumbo spices at a restaurant there.
Caleb Joshua Halley was stabbed at a seafood restaurant by his coworker 26-year-old Orlando Thompson, who has been arrested on charges of manslaughter by the Panama City Police Department.
According to police reports the two men were arguing over the amount of spice to put into Buddy's Seafood Market gumbo Tuesday where the two men worked.
Thompson armed himself with a wooden board and Halley with a small wooden knife.
Thompson then retreated and returned with a knife, slashing Halley, causing three lacerations across his torso.
Halley, who is from Calhoun County and served as Osceola at FSU from 2004 to 2007, died from his injuries Thursday.

Comment of the day:

This is a simple case of he said, she said, he grabbed, she kneed, he pulled back, she punched, he punched, she pressed charges, he got cut from the team not because it’s the right thing to do or anything like that but because he’s likely 5th on the depth chart and will go play one year of 1-AA then transfer back to another FBS school where all will be forgotten and ESPN will run a tearful redemption story on a 2018 Saturday at [insert SEC school].

Bravo, sir. Bravo.

Pretty effing stupid on his part. Just walk away. But I also think Darby has a point about if she will face consequences for her role in this altercation.

To walk away in that situation

I think he could had walked away. Even if he had to take another hit or two from her. She was no reel threat to him. But her conduct should also draw legal and school disciplinary action as well.
