Yawn. I remain confident that if the B12 had expanded, that we'd have been in. But the Big 12 is braindead and on its way to being the Big East.
A good number of mid-majors are better than some power conference teams and that's been the case for years. So what? Not everyone can be a powerhouse and there will always be bottom feeders.
LOL at UCF and Houston keeping the Big 12 from becoming the Big East.
1. Yeah, and those programs that perform better without all the resources gifted to shit P5 programs should get a chance to perform with those resources in a better conference. If there was any part of American sports screaming for European-style relegation, it's CFB. Fuck Iowa State and all the horseshit programs like them that are cashing checks and getting opportunities while achieving positively nothing.
2. The Big East comment is that when the Big 12 gets raided, and it will in a few years, it will then have to backfill with G5 programs. They could have promoted some G5 programs now, gone to 12 with actual divisions, and then they'd be better positioned to survive losing some teams. UCF, Houston, BYU, even USF (fuck them) would be better than several B12 programs instantly. Both from a long-term (program) standpoint and an immediate on-field standpoint. Well, maybe not BYU this year.
It's almost as though University presidents take other things into consideration when choosing their conference affiliations.
If they were still acting like this was an amateur sport that was a friendly competition between schools and not a billion dollar business, maybe that argument would have some merit.
Yeah, nobody's giving up the Egg Bowl and Magnolia Bowl to watch UCF go 0-12 again.
Finally we took our periodic look at sports loyalties in the state. Florida and Florida State are all tied up on the college front with 24% saying they're a fan of each school. Central Florida at 11%, Miami at 10%, South Florida at 7%, and Florida Atlantic and Florida International each at 4% round out the FBS schools in the state.
Linky
Yeah, but then he'd have to deal with Temple.@CJ_24 would finally get his wish of Rutgers getting kicked out of the B1G.
Yeah, but then he'd have to deal with Temple.
Chubb is gawd doe
Didn't think that would be enough to overturn, then I remembered this is a State game
