It's winter here so I will probably need stuff to do while inside the apartment.

Inspired by this article, I decided to see what the biggest holes in the WBL were. I also did a Team need type sheet that compares what your team did this year to what the avg was at that position. I did not look at Bullpens because it would have been a cluster cuss to decipher.

@Gooksta starts us off. I had hopes for LeMond and still do. His OBP is pretty good for what his AVG was. Starting Terry a lot in RF was not a bright idea, his defence is the biggest reason for his negative WAR. Terry may be solid but he is not a RF.

Kenney was a rush callup. He had never played above A. Hopefully he grows into the role but it would be smart to let him mature in the minors.

SS had some ugly players. Duarte is the king of the turds. Duarte is one of those Ratings guys that don't seem to pan out. He had one good season but has been dreadful since. OBP of .241 is awful. His defence is decent and he is fast.

Fenemore blew chunks last year. Not a good Defender and bad offensively. Mungu was replacement level, has good defensive ratings and has a meh bat for the time he played and would make a good backup C.

Baton Rouge was fucking bad. This is the last one of @Reel's dysfunctional fuckups. Most of this is Pancho. Green's bat is awful but it seems like his defence is good enough to make up for it. Starting him the whole time would have been a bit better.

He's a creepy looking fucker too. @jdlikewhoa is going to be fucking broke this year so an internal option will probably be the most likely event. Moritz is my bet.

The Trade Deadline Special

So since the deadline nears and we have a bit of a sim hiatus, I figured I would see where contenders need some help and what also rans can come to their aid. I considered contenders as anyone in a playoff spot or anyone that is less than 5 games out of the 4th playoff spot. I also didn't do Amsterdam because his team is fine as is.

NORTH

Helsinborg
Cotterell is having a rough year in terms of defense. Luckily for @Orlando, He can slot Carillo in at LF when he thinks he needs more defense so this isn't really an area he should trade for. Although it may allow him to offer Cotterell's bat as a trade chip to someone needing a DH if he does want to make a big deal.

Second Base is likely where Helga can stand to improve. Jones is a decent defender and his bat isn't awful but it is definitely Helga's weakest point. @Rutgers Mike is the only non contending team to have a 2B playing in the WBL that's worthwhile for Orlando. Luis Franco is having a great offensive season and is a good defender. His arm limits him to 2nd. However he is cheap (not up for Arb for a couple yrs) and is entering his prime. Rutgers may want to keep him for these reasons so suitors may have to pay a premium.

Istanbul

@Yankee151 is above the average WAR for every position other than SP (As I did not do RPs again). The Ottoman's RP ERA is 5th in the North so that is probably where Yankee should go after. RP is also something Yankee can probably afford to trade for since he has depleted his system. I haven't really looked into RPs too much so I can't offer many candidates. Brad Weeks from @Reel may help both those needs.

Las Vegas
Catcher, 2B, and SS all could use an upgrade for @doh. @NML is a contender but he has expressed interest in shipping Kim. Kim never seems to regress so this rental makes sense. 2B has already been covered but doh could also bring in Ogawa back from NML to act as an option for both 2nd and SS. Las Vegas has a solid system so a combination of picks and prospects could get one of or a combination of those two.

Buffalo is in a similar position as Amsterdam. No glaring need.

Cairo

2nd is not doing so great for Cairo. Zhi is playing decent so it may be better to just have him play over Egberts or Fiasco. It might be best to have Fiasco just stay on the bench. He has been living up to his nickname. Bringing in Franco OR talking to @Reel about Ernesto Ruíz may be something @fignuts considers.

Australia

Starting Pitching is something Australia could improve in if they are to win this season. Kim's FIP has not been very good but his WHIP is strong. Nichols hasn't quite done quite as good this year. Colomo or Kahl from @Bdub, Weeks from @Reel, or maybe Goodwin from @Karl Hungus.

Buenos Aires
1B and Catcher are my two biggest holes for this year. However I have Delfino lighting up AAA so a call up this year for him may end up happening. I would prefer it not and riding out Corrigan may be what I end up doing. However there may be some rentals. Kim would be the big fish but I am hoarding my prospects and don't want to give them up just yet. Someone like Adipo from @Wendell would be a stop gap but doesn't seem likely.

First Base may be where I may be willing to give up something for. I do not have anyone in the system that has left an impression on me. bin Hamal's numbers vs Righties has been solid. However he is dreadful vs LHP and a platoon may be my best bet. Chao from @Schauwn just caught my eye as a LHP hitting platoon partner for bin Hamal.

Kabul
@Wolfman21 does not have high hopes for this season after injuries to key players and a Geeves down year. However I don't think he's too far out of it considering my team is streaky and could easier tank or just be a .500 ball club. Third Base may be an area he could improve on with possibly a trade with @Reel for Ruiz. That is if he hasn't caught feelings or whatever the fuck Reel is going on about. Depending on how Wolfman feels about rentals, he could easily improve his Catching with Kim from @NML, Moreno from @Bdub or Nieto from @Mr. Radpants.

You are kinder to me than you should be. With the losses of Prophet, Cross and Humphrey and with Geeves and Ruiz having down years....and the youth of my pitching. I don't see a playoff run in my future. Next year should be my time to roll though. Plan on bringing Lopez up out of my AAA to man 3rd base for me. Tien Thu, if his contact rating improves, will prolly be brought up to play catcher. With those I won't really have any holes at a position...just still extremely young.

Yeah next year is where I hope to bring Delfino and Aidan Davies to hopefully improve my C and CF positions (Either by moving Mouton to CF or having Davies play there). Bjorn will then be an expensive 4th OF.
