Only got through 12 minutes so far but I'm loving it. Dat accent :love:

I really enjoy hearing how others evaluate talent. I think we all have our own techniques, and I don't think there's one "perfect" way, so it's interesting to hear the steps you go through.

Only note I'd make so far is that I have a really pitcher-friendly park. So guys like Miller and Trail are probably a little better than their stats would indicate. Oh, and I tried Garcia out in the rotation when I first got him (from doh, I think) and he had to get Tommy John after his first start, hence why I've been hesitant. I used Saldana at the end of the season as more of a test run for him as a starter, but currently I have him in a mop-up role. I'll probably give both a shot in ST and see what happens.

We'll see. With Saldana, Garcia, and Rauch (who I'm guessing osick talks about later in the vidya), I've got three borderline guys who could do either. Rauch is probably most likely to stay in the pen after I ruined Paco and his low stamina.

Made it through the ML discussion. Pretty much spot on with a lot of it. I do a lot of lefty/righty matchups, so with guys like Morra/Plummer, Rodriguez/Williams, and Porky/Ice Cold will rotate.

I haven't forgotten about you @Reel. I just ended up napping today and didn't get around to scouting your team. Will do the video tomorrow.

At a quick glance, your team is terrible and you are years away.

That is sort of my fear. Knowing Reel knows sweet eff A about baseball, I'm going to make a lengthy video explaining everything and then Reel doesn't watch it.

Finally made a video.

It's sort of quiet but I go over how I do an Organizational Depth Spreadsheet. I don't do my whole team because that would be boring. Instead I do my super stacked A team.

Thanks, @osick87. Fun start to the day listening to that.

-I like Hennessy more than you, he hit 39 bolts the year he was healthy. I doubt I would get decent trade value equal to how much I like him, though.
-Naif is coming off an injury, he was playing 3rd while I trained Vaughn up at first. I'll train him up at first this season in AAA.
-I hope Vaughn is better than a 1 WAR player. Either way he's CULT HERO GEORGE VAUGHN now.
-Milheirio and Bruiser are odd prospects IMO.
-No one is blocked by Brodbeck, he done died.

Trying to build a prospect core, here's what I have in my head

Young/Nelson
Vaughn, Naif, Milheirio, Bruiser, Almquis, Camacho, Dietrich

Which is probably not good enough to make the playoffs, so I'll just have to keep drafting and being aggressive in the trade market. I view this as a pretty long term project reaching beyond what I have in the minors TBH. So in about a year I'll have to make a decision whether I've assembled a good enough core to go forward or if I should deal these guys like Young and Almquis as they hit potential.

The biggest problem from inactivity was that my minors were completely devoid of talent. I've done what I can to restock but I don't have a great core yet and just as important I don't have a wealth of talent that I can trade with to augment the core.

As an aside, I am actually active daily and export every export. I was not using inactivity as a tank method a la @Yankee151, that Dublin team was actually the best I was able to field while rebuilding. I picked up Juarez in a trade, signed Flat Tire and made other moves that I thought would actually improve the team despite trading Pendragon. Boy was I wrong. :laughing:

I also managed to accumulate two first rounders and 3 or 4 second rounders for what ended up being a disappointing draft class.

Yeah, I know the rankings. I don't think I'm good enough, though. My SABR guys are shaking their heads about having a good amount of green but not enough blue yet.

-I just don't value Power a ton since my park sort of kills it. Especially Power that doesn't get on base much (<.325)

- Just figured that was a way to have Naif and George on the field at the same time.

-His ratings aren't great, which is why I said that he's likely going to be just average. That said, his defence at 3rd is going to probably what carries him higher than 1 WAR. That's why I said to move Naif to 1st.

-I doubt Miheirio makes a huge impact but I've definitely been wrong before. His Power hasn't came through but maybe his contact and eye are better than expected.

-Valentin is going to be super BABIP reliant but he'll probably give you enough defence that you can overlook his bat. Given the rest of your lineup fleshes out.

I say blocked by Brodbeck because you're paying him money so you are probably going to try and get some value out of him. Didn't realize he still had option years.


I agree that the core you listed may not make playoffs but it's a start.


I also missed de Haan in your IC. He looks like he could be good. Young/Nelson/de Haan could be a nice trio. de Haan is long enough away where you won't have to pay all three at the same time.
