Rutgers Mike

80% of recruits at Cal now must have a 3.0 or above HS GPA.

Their facilities were just updated and still suck. No one cares about CFB in the Bay Area. They haven't been good for about 10 years. They have less than no money (stadium has totally fucked up them due to moronic old AD). Their roster isn't exactly talented.

Worst of all-- the administration and faculty hates sports.

Other than that, I think Chip should take the job.

Sounds like Rutgers, except we don;t have the GPA limitations.

At least their rugby team is decent.

THANK YOU Dermott McHeshi
The only relevant players that have come from Cal are Aaron Rodgers, Marshawn Lynch, Desean Jackson, Javid Best & Nnamdi Asomuga..that's it. So the AD put the school in the financial toilet huh?
They completely re-did their stadium with the idea it would be funded by people buying PSLs basically... and no one has. She set up a total Ponzi scheme and somehow is the Penn State AD now.

I've been reading they might have to cut a ton of sports.

Tedford had some great teams there (2004, 2006) with tons and tons of talent. But it's just too hard to win consistently there. The 3.0 rule is going to kill them.

Hasn't Stanford been a successful football progrum under two successive coaches?
Yes but they care about football a lot more. Have an admin/students that don't hate sports. Tons of money from donors. Recruit nationally and if a there's a top 250 or whatever RivalZzZZ player who is good enough to get in there, they usually get them. They still don't draw and no one cares about Stanford football in the Bay Area, but it's easier to win there.

Stanford's historically had more success than Cal too.

They must care about academics a lot less, because Hunter Henry (former Arky TE, now on the Chargers) is dumb as hell and he got an offer from them.

Iowa WR and RB/ST coaches out.

No tears shed for Kennedy, as he was a Greg Davis remora who neutered every WR 'croot we got in the last few years. White did work, doe, and sounds like he only got canned because of Iowa's dickbrained campus visit policy--which coincidentally also cost us a boatload of our best recruits this year.

Or hey, maybe these moves were made to make room for Kirk's two other sons.

Maybe they could try to get Erik Campbell back. Still don't understand how he got fired in the first place.

Quite a hire by UConn. Took a massive downgrade in terms of program and took a big pay cut to boot. Must have been banging Mrs. Malzahn. I'm really disappointed because I wanted UConn to go back to the easy to defend pro-style with substandard players.

Also, AFCA approved a resolution for an additional assistant coach. It's expected to pass easily this spring at the NCAA meetings.

There was some talk that he left after getting passed over for the OC gig once Ken O'Keefe left (can't blame him either, especially considering who we got instead). Not sure if he'd want to come back now that Lil Ferentz is entrenched as OC/HC-in-waiting.

Tyrone Wheatley interviewing for Western Michigan position today. Would be an interesting hire.

They gonna be 95% Ground & Pound team instead of being high octane offense they were under Fleck. Wheatly would be a good hire

Sucking off Lawn Guy Land hobos.
I'm pretty pumped for the VaTech game next year. What kind of area is Landover? Are they friendly to rednecks? Asking for a friend.

Landover is a real shithole. If the last WVU game there is any indication you'll have plenty of redneck WVU fans but the DC Vortex (where Landover is located) is a CHOKIES stronghold. Just be prepared to be surrounded by needledicks driving Audi A4s wearing Chicago Maroon and Burnt Orange.
