How does Mt. Union put together a squad year-in/year-out that not only wins but absolutely kicks the shit out of everybody. They won the national semifinal, today, 70-21 and it was 70-0 heading into the 4th quarter.
They benefit from playing in a state that's extremely talent rich (4th most DI recruits per year) while simultaneously being under served in terms of schools once you go below the MAC level. I mean off the top of my head there's Dayton at the FCS level along with Tiffin and a couple others in DII, but that's about it.
What ends up happening is Mount gets a lot of kids who are borderline FCS/DII (and even a handful of MAC caliber kids that want to play right away) and just absolutely dominate talent wise compared to everyone else. They're also one of the very few DIII programs that has enough of a name that they are able to recruit Florida and bring in a some kids from down there, plus transfers.
As an aside, if anyone ever started a DIII program in Florida they would have a chance to dominate: that's another state that is grossly under served. I've recruited the state the last few years and there are a lot of good football players that aren't FBS/FCS caliber that completely fall through the cracks.
NDSU wins their 4th straight. This senior class went 57-3. They had less losses than national championships
haven't they beaten like 5 or 6 FBS teams in a row too?
Fucking Bo Pelini and letting YSU fall apart. If W. Illinois could get in at 6-5, a 6-5 YSU could have gotten in.
#FsamhoustonstateSeriously concerned about next week. Keeler is cocky AF because he won last year, but I bet JSU makes it a close game. Idk if the Gamecocks win though.
@goblue96
How much time does Dave Brock have left? Any names floating around as potential replacements?
I'm sure Keeler left him a mess roster wise, but there's no excuse for going 4-7 in your third year: Delaware is one of the best jobs in D-IAA IMO.
Any chance Delaware goes back to the wing t? Ya know, the offense that's named after them?
