If the ACC and Pac-12 are still Power 5 then I don't see why the new Big 12 shouldn't be.

Baylor and Oklahoma State had better seasons that Texas and Oklahoma. And Houston and Cincinnati were as competitive as most P5 programs.

BYU had just as much success in the PAC-12 as Utah did. I'm not saying BYU is anything special. But given that, if the PAC stays P5 just because they have some name programs, then the new Big XII stays P5 because of actual play on the field.
