"The NBA, when boiled down to its most basic, is a Venn diagram. You have good teams. You have bad teams. And when the two intersect, you have the most essential of them all: League Pass teams."

For Covington Saric AND a pick

Top three of the east should be interesting

Edit: second round pick

I don’t get this for Philly. They already have an issue with not enough spacing, so they trade two shooters? Jimmy is also a high usage guy, and so are Simmons and Embiid

I like the fit for those two on Minny, but surprised they couldn’t get more

This trade, likely, moves Redick/Chandler/Shamet into the starting lineup. None of those are good things.

Fultz, JJ, Butler, Simmons, Embiid is pretty solid. Spacing is going to be an issue (fultz and Simmons were playing together anyways)...

Saw a HOT TAKE that the top four in the east are better than the top four in the west.

Celtics haven’t been playing well and Bucks are overachieving, but it’s definitely closer.

With the emergence of Giannas, Embiid, and Simmons all as top 20 players (Giannas probably top five), plus Jimmy and Kawhi coming over, the talent disparity isn’t there like it was.

This is huge. Maybe they send Fultz to the bench, play Butler at SF, and start Reddick. That unit could have better spacing.

edit - was this deal for Minn really better than what they could get from Houston? Thos draft picks must have had some serious protections.

Yeah but the West has Joe Ingles.

Caris LeVert - I didn’t know this dude existed before last week. But he can ball. I didn’t see them play the Pels, but that seems like the only bad game he’s had. He got matched up with Iggy and Draymong a bunch and had a great game. No one on the Nets plays defense but it seems like he’s got the skills if he was on a better team.

RIP

You didn't trade "two starters for one". You traded two stars for an all NBA talent.

Covington and Saric ain't stars. They were pieces who fit into the Sixers puzzle. The missing piece isn't Butler. Both Covington and Saric have a career eFG higher than Butler. The missing piece is replacing Fultz with someone who doesn't have a broke dick jump shot. Butler isn't going to solve the Sixers problems by hisself.

Philadelphia does finally get Wilson Chandler off of the injured list. He is a slightly more versatile version of Robert Covington.

You tom bout the Covington who’s shooting 39% from three and was all defense first team last year?

Butler is also gonna be making three times what Covington makes
