Ain't nobody winning the MVP 'cept Westbrook. Harden will be a fairly close second and Leonard will steal some votes, but Westbrook will win the MVP.I pose a question to the finest basketball minds in this thread:
If Russell Westbrook and James Harden would have switched teams with each other at the beginning of the season, how much of a different impact do you think they would have had on their respective teams considering the personnel and coaching contrasts?
The reasoning for this question is because I continually hear James Harden being pretty much confirmed as a lock for the MVP even though Westbrook is going to average a triple double, something that hasn't been done for decades, while carrying his rag tag group of misfits into the playoffs. I wonder who is truly more valuable. Would Harden be able to do the same with that group on the Thunder, and if Westbrook was on the Rockets, do you think they win more games or less than they are right now with Harden on their team?
Now, AD and Boogie can EACH go 25/12 a night on the way to 32-50
I want that to happen so bad. The Process Strikes Back
RUSSSSS
box score obsessive RUSS will top booker on 36-100 shooting one night.
Westbrook needed overtime for his historic stat line but played only 42 minutes. Thunder coach Billy Donovan has remained committed all season to managing Westbrook's workload, keeping him under 40 minutes for every non-overtime game this season. Westbrook has played 40-plus minutes only five times this season, and Wednesday was the first time it had happened since Nov. 30. For comparison, Harden has played 15 games with 40 or more minutes, and LeBron James has played 20.
I think this is relevant to the whole "RUSS is just chasing stats" discussion.
How much is that on the way they play though? They don't exactly empower their guys to do much creating and you can't just flip a switch when Russ isn't on the floor. They really are that bad most nights, especially if Oladipo is off. Roberson is gr8 on defense but worthless on offense 95% of the time. Adams hasn't been anywhere near as good as he should have been this year. Kanter is like Roberson, only on offense. The rest of the team is meh except in small bursts (Abrines, McBuckets, Gibson, mainly) or just downright garbage (Sabonis, Christon, Singler).

Thunder aren't THAT bad lol. They'd at least be a pretty good defensive team without Russ. Y'all make it sound like he'd lead the nets to 50 wins.
What FAs are lining up to touch the ball 4 times a game and have all their stats gobbled up by the nasty snapping turtle?
all of themThe question I have, is how does OKC improve from here on out? To me, this is best iteration of a westbrook led team and it got them .581. What FAs are lining up to touch the ball 4 times a game and have all their stats gobbled up by the nasty snapping turtle? How many mitch mcgarys they gonna draft in the 20s each year? KD couldn't fucking wait to get the hell out and play a more fun brand of bball
