That's the fucking worst part about the whole deal, blaming her for "part" and then subsequently saying that the fact that she stood by him is a mitigating factor in punishment. These dumb motherfuckers never heard of battered person syndrome? It really isn't that surprising that she stood by him, given all the factors at work.

One of the aspects that bothers me about this situation is how easily people are discounting her opinion on the matter. IMO, what she thinks should happen should be given more weight than anyone else.

Yes, many battered women become apologists for their attackers. However, it would be a mistake to automatically assume that is the case here. If she can honestly say that this was the only time that Ray Rice has done anything like this, and that he has taken steps (counseling, etc.) to pay for his mistake and ensure that it doesn't happen again, then that significantly changes the story. I don't know if that is the case or not, but if it is, then to discount her opinion on the matter simply because she is a "battered woman" is demeaning and does her a great injustice.

My dude Brian Collins! He actually interviewed me for a story when we were at Ball State. Best part about that video is apparently he would always talk about how it was easy to be a broadcaster so they had him fill in that night when the usual anchor was sick. The result was the famous video. Yeah...not that easy. He's now in Waco writing for some Examiner.com offshoot I believe.

Anyways....Robert Mathis out for the year with a torn Achilles. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...s-rest-season-tearing-achilles-tendon-workout

I have a problem with the team/NFL/Rice placing her in a situation where she basically had to defend Rice or suffer the consequences of him losing his very high profile job.

By the very definition of battered person's syndrome, if you are defending someone who just beat the fuck out of you, then your judgement probably should be taken with a grain assault. How is that demeaning? She's defending someone who beat her, is "battered person's syndrome" not merely an accurate description? While her account should obviously be taken into consideration, it was pretty clear that Rice assaulted her, and I don't care if he feels bad or if that was the only time, or goes to all the counseling in the world, or even if she forgives him. All of that might be great in the context of their own relationships, but to me he's still a piece of shit and I wouldn't have him on my team, to me. .

I do wonder strictly out of curiosity what she did that made Ray Rice say "fuck millions of dollars and instead of just dumping this girl, I'll hit her."

I used to teach a domestic violence class to violent parolees. Men who hit women grow up in environments where they see their male role models hit women. It's engrained in them and then our patriarchal society just enforces it even more. It's nigh impossible to pray the woman beating out of a man who does it. I think you'd have better luck praying the gay away.

Romanowski is a piece of shit and I never liked him. Was glad when he went to play for the Raiders. Still rather have him than Ray Rice doe, as at least he was punching grown men. I mean you are welcome to try me on this FOOTBAW fan nonsense, but you aren't going to find me defending mongs. I hate fucking John Elway, the hero of my favorite franchise, because he cheated on his wife (and Tebow).

Football fandom loyalty is stupid. Pat white slipped my girlfriend a Molly so I no longer worship him.

he probably fucked her too. And if that happened The real crime here is that it wasn't on video and I don't have that video in my homemade porn library.

Got cuckold?

Speaking of fucking John's cheating asshole, I really like the theory that Brock Osweiller is his illegitimate love child.

Read a hottake that basically said how he is so nonchalant about her being unconscious.

Means he probably has done this more than once.

Is this consistent with your experiences workingwith battered spouses, southpaw?

We didn't involve the victims in our class. It was men allowed only and by not involving them or even mentioning them, it doesn't give the abuser any chance to lay any blame upon them at all.

I remember MackZills defending Romanowski and saying he wasn't a dirty player.

Good lawd you hate elway because he cheated on his wife? People make mistakes

First of all, I don't think cheating is a "mistake," but I certainly think it is a forgivable sin, depending on the circumstances and how you own it... The problem I had with Elway was he was a smug dickhead about his cheating. I myself was accused of "cheating" once, though I don't consider what happened to be "cheating" technically, though I did put myself in a compromising situation (passed out drunk, woke up receiving BJ from unfortunate looking girl who wasn't my gf, subsequently kicked her out of my room, but was still labeled cheater. boooo).

Besides, I only partially hate him for cheating, I mostly hate him for having a horse face, loose asshole, and trading Tebow away. The cheating thing was just the beginning of me thinking he was a fuck.

One of my all time fave moments was at the little league field. I was about 15 years old and was hanging out with this girl my age. We were talking to a parent whose kid was playing. The parent points to some other parent who was kind of a big scary looking dude by the concession stand and says in the most serious tone to the girl " see him over there....he beats women."

the look of horror on her face was priceless.
