I should have elaborated, since Carroll took over I think USC recruits itself essentially, you just need a coach that isn't a total wet noodle, sark and kiffen could/can both recruit obviously well enough to pull in top 5 caliber classes every year, but I guess the question is do you think they couldn't find a better X's and O's coach that can still recruit 80 or 90% as well as those idiots do? Cuz I think winning attracts kids just as much, and add that to it being SC, I'm not sure it matters if your product is hot garbage like it is now.

While I was watching the game it was like i was reading from a guide book for the stages of sark, I could count each stage of "sarkness" that SC was gonna go through as the game went on: First the mind boggling awful early game turnovers, the terrible execution and drops, then the penalties, then the hilariously bad awareness on the trick play, then the idiotic decision to go for it on 4th and inches from the 10 with :13 left in the 1st half (sark does tons of idiotic things that don't quit burn him but make zero sense), and lastly the burning 2 pivotal timeouts for 3rd down plays (that didn't even workout) and that field goal attempt lol.

I get the hate for sark, but Shaw is going to come crashing down in the next year or two. He's frankly an idiotic coach on game day. He'll consistently punt from the opponents 30 on 4th and less than 5. His play calling is Almost as bad as that. He is a worse version of Kirk Ferentz on game day.

The stages of Sarkness:

1. Denial (that his past record will be indicative of future success)
2. Anger (that a team with this level of talent can be so LOL incompetent on the field)
3. Bargaining (thinking that maybe all Sark needs is an able offensive or defensive coordinator because it is the offense/defense that is the team's weakness)
4. Depression (at the prospect of @bruin and @bruin228 chanting "Four more years! Four more years!.....hmm, I'm moving back into Anger territory now )

5. Acceptance (that Sark and Haden are probably golf buddies and fellow lizard people and that we mere humans who foolishly cheer for brightly colored gladiators to smash into each other will continue to pony up our hard earned money and put our fragile emotions on the line for something as disappointing as the blurred-out genitalia of Japanese porn)

can't wait to watch NC State derp up the field in Blacksburg tomorrow night. I'm feeling about 23% confident in a win.

lmao lemme take it one step further and predict how this season is gonna go:

You see he'll sprinkle in some genuine great performances and ur gonna be like "ahh sheet, maybe this is when he's gonna get it!" then he'll follow it up with like 3 straight:Poo: losses before he scrambles a couple late season wins. happened every year while at UW lol.

And that cycle this year is when they smashed ASU 2 weeks ago (makes you feel all fuzzy inside and you're like ahh sheet, maybe they're gonna go 12-1 and make the playoffzzz), and then he follows up with getting shut down by an okay Washington team (turrible offense, great defense), a terrible loss to Notre Dame where they get man-handled or some shit 38-17 (same shit as Washington), then the same happens against Utah and everyone is all mad as shit at Sark and they're like 3-4 rabble rabble rabble, but then Sark rattles off 5 straight wins when the schedule lightens up (@cal, arizona, @colorado, @Oregon, UCLA), wins a bowl game, finish the year 9-4 and everyone is like "OMG MAYBE USC IS BACKKKKK AND SARK GETSZZ IT AGAIN #1 RECRUITING CLASS FAPFAPFAP" and the cycle continues again next year lmao. rinse repeat. Sign Sark up for life

 Fuck - it IS Kiffin all over again.

However, that late season 5-0 surge you described - c'mon man, puff-puff-pass, don't break the rhythm!

I think only Colorado appears like a sure win. All the rest are losable games (but alternatively, also winnable given the talent level on this team) so I'm thinking it's more likely to be a 3-2 stretch if I'm optimistic, but 2-3 is what I'm preparing for. I'm thinking that Notre Dame is gonna kill us, since they'll tune up on Navy this Saturday. Utah is likely to beat us as well, and while Oregon looks vulnerable now, this USC team has about as much killer instinct as an overweight, flatulent pug.

Haden is in over his head. RHODES SCHOLAR DOE.

New AD next fall for SC.

They shouldn't even have to leave the Pac-12 South as they look for their next head coach.

I've heard that coaching at USC is Graham's dream job. Of course, you can say the same about every gig he has accepted to date.:Straight-Face:

@Wolfman21 @Wuf How are y'all feeling about the game tonight? Honestly have no idea what to expect from either team.

I fully expect us to lay an egg. I just don't see this team going into a hazardous environment and walking away with a victory.

That said, VT has only 1 win in their last 8 power 5 opponent home games so who really knows.

NC State has to have the worst national MARKET FOOTPRINT of any regular bowl team. I watch a shitload of footbaw and I never even stumble on one of their random games. At least the shitty Big Ten and Pac-12 teams get their own space in early or late night games. ACC is relegated to whatever upgraded jefferson pilot sports channel there is or matched up against big games at 3:30 or primetime. Not even I watch the Friday games unless it's a complete accident.

I don't remember them really doing Friday night games for the ACC until this year. Really shows you how shitty ACC football is, chasing Friday night viewers.

State really has no reason not to be a contender in the league year in year out, but if they can't win a fucking ACC division with Russell Wilson at QB then they are pretty much destined to suck a vast apportionment of dicks.

Russillo and Kanell are asking why LA crowds are so flat for a Thursday night game.

"but da SECEEEEE is always liveeee and in it."

LAWDDD.

Like the rest of the country there is other shit to do on a Thursday night. It's really pretty simple.

Cancer chicken and vidya?

After THE BAR we went out to a latin fusion place that is family owned, small, solid. But now they are putting Sriracha on every table? Gentrification/hipster demand, I'm sure.

thursday football is like drunk sex with that one fat girl that's at every party, i mean it's sex so you're still glad it happened and it counts, but you're still sort of ashamed of it all and want to be doing someone else

Exactly what I expected so far. This team is so fucking lost right now...it's kinda sickening. I'm done for the night though. Gonna go enjoy my Friday night

good to see things didn't get any better after I turned it. Doeren is quickly coaching himself firmly on the hot seat. Dude is 3-15 in the ACC in 2 years and 2 games and this years squad has CLEARLY regressed from last years squad while keeping basically everyone sans 1 or 2 olinemen and 1 or 2 dlinemen. Can't wait for our games vs Clemson and FSU. I'm sure we'll have a chance

KSU +10
WAZZU +17
WAZZU TT 28 O
TEN +3
FSU -6.5
UVA +10
WF +10
WF 13 TT O

Debating whether I want to play the FSU and Cal games: thinking about betting on Wake Forest to score more than 14.5 points based on that Brock stat earlier.

Money's moved this morning on a couple games I like: Tennessee and UVA lines are down a couple points from where I got them, while Mizzou got a point more.

I have:
Indiana +6 1/2
Maryland +33
Troy +30 1/2
East Carolina +8
Washington St +17

@PSUEagle By the numbers Utah should beat Cal by 2 touchdowns, but that being said. We don't really know how Utah is going to come out and play after the bye and getting so much hype and this is the first time Cal has played any team that doesn't suck all year. I would probably stay away from this game even if I wasn't bias.

@Bdub: My book has PSU at -7. Good call though: I'd bet IU for sure if I wasn't a Penn State fan.

That Cal game is my least favorite play: good chance I dump that. The thing is, I'm kind of like @Brick with this Utah team: their offense makes me doubt them week to week. I'm just assuming they'll trip on their own dicks, but who knows. Shit, if that BEAR guy on ESPN likes them I should probably back off @Brock.

Well well well: line on BC has moved to -10:laughing:

Going to see if I can get it any higher over the next 1/2 hour.

Updated my ledger: taking off Cal and putting in Wake Forest over on scoring more than 13 points. Also got them at +10.

Going with Mizzou because Florida's played one great half of football this year against a notoriously streaky team: based on that they're a five point favorite on the road? You know it's destiny that Missouri wins the SEC East a 3rd straight year as UF and UGA trip on their own dicks:laughing:

Play I'm really high on is KSU: this TCU team's defense will make it hard for them to really run it up. Snyder's teams almost always play well at home and they're always exceptionally well coached: think this game comes down to a few points either way IMO.

KSU could be a good pick. Mizzou sucks this year man. Florida is not great and coming off a big win, but Mizzou is bad.

Utah will certainly screw up at some point there is no doubt about that. I worry about the offense as well but not against Cal. In my mind the game comes down to Utah getting pressure on Goff, if they do Cal is in trouble. Still it's the pac 12 so Utah will probably get blown out.

Oh I know: I did bet Kentucky a couple weeks ago:laughing:

I may end up deleting that game in a few hours: that pick was more of a reaction to UF's sudden hype. I watched them putz around vs. Kentucky and ECU and now they're a Top 10 team? Nah b.

I said this same shit with UCLA and Arizona state. Haha.

@PSUEagle
I think it's def a trap game but last week should have been after the comeback vs Tennessee.

Outside of 2013 @ Mizzou, Florida has dominated them on the defensive side of the ball. If Florida can avoid turnovers and break even on special teams then I think Florida wins.

TCU-KSK will be good. KSU should be able to control the ball and score often. I agree that it should be a close game.

Can Texas get win #2?

I think he means, if you already entered the bet how can you cancel it?

Way I've done it in the past is the bookie keeps the juice if I cancel before kickoff, so I still lose out. If I see a line I like better later/want to lay off, there's a penalty but not as big if I lose outright.

In college I had the greatest gig ever: make picks for my uncle (who used to bet a lot back then) and get 10% of his winnings:laughing: Zero risk involved there.

You and Brock have swayed me: laying off the Missouri game now.
