When the Wild went on their pull-the-goalie-in-overtime kick in March, the podcast with LaPlanta and Russo kicked around the idea of why don't teams do everything to take a penalty if they lose the puck and a empty netter is nigh. They said that the rule in OT either is, or should be, an automatic goal (when if the goalie was there it'd be a penalty shot).

That last penalty from LA felt to me like it should fall into that category. Looked like Draisaidtl had the edge and would have scored if not for the intentional slashing penalty. I think there's an argument that should be a goal
