I am conflicted over attending games that go extra-innings. On the one hand, it's extra-innings. But on the other hand, they stop selling alcohol in the 7th inning.

Ok, so I haven't watched baseball since last year's postseason, but I just saw the Braves' pitcher reading a little notecard between batters. Is he using a scouting report cheat sheet?? And when did this become a thing? Never seen that in my life. The catcher is supposed to know it and call pitches accordingly.

thank Gabe Kapler. Beginning of September, Phillies pitcher had one on the mound......Joe West took it from him. MLB came back and said it was ok with pitchers having a note card that they could go to between batters.

The 2003 and 2004 Red Sox-Yankees series were great.

This was probably the pinnacle of my baseball watching career.

We moved up north in 2002, and the team was solid but missed out on the playoffs. I’d guess they won like 95 games. Then they brought in Theo, signed Billy Mueller, Millar, and Ortiz and that team had a ton of hype. I probably watched 140ish games that year and was devastated when Aaron Fucking Boone went yard. That whole season set up 04 perfectly, from Little fucking up game seven to Pedro throwing Zimmer.

Once they signed Schilling it was really WS or bust. That year was a roller coaster. Not just the form but trading NOMAH, Lowe being awful, Yankees were fantastic. One of my most vivid memories is my buzzed dad (who had basically become a fan by force) screaming for Roberts after Millar walked and later my then drunk dad waking the rest of the house up when Ortiz walked off. The bloody sock, it was as good as sports can get.

Anyways, I have a hard time seeing how anything can ever match that but I’ll do my best and get really drunk tonight and hopefully leave these same memories for my sons

Also, fuck the Yankees
