FSU's admin at the time was at an all-time low in incompetence. Stan "Waldo" Wilcox was the AD. This is a guy who earned the name "Waldo" because nobody could ever find him. He showed up to a Football only Facility board meeting and presented a 4 page power point for a 150 million dollar complex. Which was hilariously over priced and lacked details. Way to put the work in there Stan. It was rejected. When Fisher left Wilcox had one stipulation, had to be a black coach. He spent a whole 3 days searching for a coach for one of the most well known college football brands in the country. Unfortunately his boss James Thrasher, the president of FSU was a clueless boob who just went along with it. It blew up in their faces in the first game vs VT in 2018. Stan ran to the NCAA 45 days later and Thrasher finally retired last summer. Taggart was finally fired mid season in 2019. You should be thanking FSU for taking Taggart off your hands. Oregon would be in a dark place if he stuck around.

Also realize for as bad as Stan Wilcox and Thrasher were. FSU had only replaced a coach once in 40 years prior to Taggart. Was bound to make a mistake as the previous two coaches won national championships.

Late catching up on this ridiculous thread but Clownzano's use of galvanize in that tweet is lols.

Does he mean win them over? Or does he mean they'll do something crazy like become rich boosters who don't understand that their meddling makes the program actively worse because they have no idea how to build a program or even what a withdrawal receipt looks like?

Who the f cares what ex Oregon players think? Not running the program.
