That'd be too severe. Franco had only played one full season and he still demanded 15m a year. I think the cheese is on mid season call ups.

If you want a real solution, 2 years service is probably better than 1 without forcing everyone to go to arb

I think it's mostly because Subano is only 21. After this deal is up he'll be 28 and asking for 25M per. Getting paid 2.5M as a 22 and 23 year old is worth the lower arb years for him.

I did that for Cipto (extension at 25) and Yamauchi (extension at 24), but not Subano

Do players not develop the same way at WBL level? I've always called really good players up quickly based on them breaking out sooner (see Nelson and Franco).

It's debatable, OU ran an experiment where he had (Ferrebereio, maybe?) called up a bunch of prospects while tanking and they turned out fine, but it just depends. Subano was the #1 overall pick and an outlier in that he was kinda legit ready for the majors anyways though.

I suppose I've only ever done it with 23 year olds, but Nelson and Franco just exploded after one strong season in AA. Mind you Chris Campbell has been a real disappointment this year, after his monster start (maybe because I gave him no help in the field)....
