Lots of rumors/speculation that Bylsma will be fired within the next week. I don't buy it, he'll go in the off-season, but it's worth a dream.
Not a Pens fan so I probably wouldn't have heard the rumors but this seems beyond wacky even for internet standards. How could you fire a coach of the 2nd seeded team weeks before the playoffs? Unless he bangs the owner's wife on live TV behind the bench, I can see very few scenarios where he gets canned prior to the playoffs. Besides it's likely they make the conference finals. And then it just takes a some luck before he becomes "unfireable." At least for a few more seasons.

What's the deal with Pens fans and Bylsma? No sarcastic, just asking. It seems they've been tired of him ever since their cup win.

Because he's failed historically, the team is exhibiting the same problems and Bylsma hasn't learned from his many failures, he's still doing his standard 'we have to get back to our game' shit and does nothing.

The NHL is unlike any sport. The Devils were in 1st place in 2000 with 8 games left, lost 10 of 16 and fired their coach. And they won the Stanley Cup. The Devils did it again in 2007. The Penguins fired Therien the year after he went to the Stanley Cup (granted, they weren't in the playoffs at the time) and hired Bylsma. They won the Stanley Cup.

The Penguins have no discipline and he makes no in game adjustments. County Club atmosphere. He needs to install an offense that isn't easily countered. He makes no in game changes. Doesn't know how to match lines. He just benched Jokinen earlier in the week for taking a bad penalty because he 'wasn't a star', where his line then blew the game with him out. They've been embarrassed the last four years in the playoffs. Swept by the Bruins and it wasn't just a sweep, it was bad. Got the rape hammer dropped on them by a very 'meh' Flyers team that seemed to score 8 goals a game. Lost in 7 to an 8 seed Habs team. Look at the mismanagement of Iginla. He's been a 1st ballot HOF RW for 18 years and Byslma puts him as a LW. I believe he has near 30 goals for the Bruins this year. Bylsma was ripped by USA players at the Olympics. He fucked that up too.

And no chance the Penguins are 'likely' to make it to the conference finals. If the Penguins get past the Capitals/Red Wings/Jackets, they'll lose to the Rangers or Flyers in 5 games. The Penguins live and die by the PP. I'm curious to see where the +/- is with 5 on 5.

The Bruin's possession numbers are ridiculous. Not 1st in the league though (Kings)

Crosby is so frustrated with this team he just hit a rock bottom on a Hurricane.

Tanner Glass on a 4 on 4, down 3 with 5 minutes left is just shameful. Maybe Bylsma gets the axe after this one.

Here's why the shootout sucks. Flyers and Blues play 65 scoreless minutes with phenomenal play from both teams and both goaltenders. Shootout produces two goals in four shots. Fucking stupid.

Irishman just mad that the Flyers lost.

Actually, I like the shootout, but I wish they'd change it so it doesn't count as much in the standings as a regulation win. I would personally go to 3 points for regulation win, 2 for OT/SO win, and 1 for OT/SO loss. At least then you wouldn't get teams into the playoffs solely on the strength of having a SO specialist in goal and one on the team. Example: the Avs when they made the playoffs last time.

Actually, I was upset that the game didn't end 0-0. It's just stupid ending games with the equivalent of the home run derby.

Avs just pulled another 2 points out of their ass. I do like how Roy pulls the goalie with 2+ minutes left. It seems to work better than the normal move of pulling the goalie with about a minute left. Apparently this is the 4th game this year where Roy has pulled the goalie 2+ minutes and the Avs have tied it.

Huge win for the Jackets last night. Sorry, @Irishman.

We control our own destiny for a wildcard playoff spot, but it'd be nice to see them get into the 3rd spot in the Metro. Playing Boston in the first round :vomit:

NESN announcers confirmed for biggest homer crybabies on the planet. I'm not sure the Flyers homers would be any better, but this is awful.

Why doesn't the NHL network have their own announcers when the take the feed from a game? They just have 1 game at a time. They're already using all their graphics and their studio crew. Every time they pick up a feed they're getting the home town crew.

I'm sure that's what it comes down to. Just seems to me if you're going to a "National Game" give it a national crew. Would like to think the NHL could afford two Canadian guys who want to watch the game and talk about it.

Reading that Denver is pretty irate that the Pens pulled a Greg Popovich and benched just about every good player on the team in a meaningless game for the Pens. Tickets that go for $80 were being scalped for $800. Crosby hasn't played there since 2009 and everyone wanted to see the Nova Scotians Crosby and Mackinnon.

I just find it strange the NHL is playing so many inter-conference games to end the year.

2 of the last three games for the Blackhawks are against the East (Montreal and Washington).

NHL gone NHL. The season ends Sunday and there are some teams that have to play 3 games in 4 days (Thursday/Sat/Sunday) to end the season and played 2 games the previous 7 days.

The playoff format is also terrible.

Wow, combination of nasty wrister by Comeau and bad goal tending by Greiss. With the way things are playing out tonight, Jackets have to hold on and get these 2.

He put it in the right spot, but Greiss definitely should have saved it. He made up for it by stoning Johansen there, doe, 'cause that was nasty.

Come on boys, run this clock out.

Avs are 7-0-1 in their last 8. They're in all likelihood going to have home ice against the Blackhawks, and they're only 2 points behind the Blues. I'm thinking they are a team you do not want to face in the playoffs right now. Unless Varly goes cold, then you definitely want to face the Avs

The Avs and Hawks will go 7 with the injury to Toews damning the Hawks to a first round exit.

Pumped the Jackets are back in the playoffs, this team has been a lot of fun to watch over the past 2 seasons.

It's incredible as to how much the Flyers own Bylsma. They must hire Laviolette in the offseason...

Also, Go Flyerz!!! .. would mean a Rangers/Flyers series and the Pens more than likely get the Blue Jackets.
