The Ducks are going to try and trade for a winger tomorrow. They traded Penner who was their 1RW

Penguins in the running for Ryan Kesler, Marek Zidlicky or Alex Hemsky.

Nucks blowing things up. I was reading that the Pens/Flyers have the two best offers for him but probably wouldn't waive his NTC for Philly and wants to play for Bylsma. Must address some sort of winger for Crosby. I think Beardown is the 1st team RW right now for the Pens.

Nathan MacKinnon just tied Gretzky for the longest point streak by an 18 year old (12 games). Somewhat silly record, but also pretty cool considering that Gretzky holds it.

And, suck it, Blackhawks.

Too many injuries for the Pens and didn't do much if anything at the trade deadline. If they do get to the ECF, they have shown and done nothing to think they won't get their shit pushed in by the Bruins yet again.

Eh its not even so much overpaying someone. I just would have liked to see a little more shuffling of the deck chairs. It doesn't really matter anymore, I'm resigned to my fate with the Mets, Rutgers and Flyers.

What's the deal with Martin St. Louis? Have the Rangers made an upgrade? I know nothing about this dude other then he's a 6 time all star. His accolades say "much better then Ryan Callahan" but what do those of you that closely follow say?...

Yikes I just read that he's 38? Clearly St. Louis is a better offensive player but other then that I have no idea

Too many what-ifs on who won that trade, but Callahan wasn't coming back to the NYR and he's not worth the 6 year $40 million dollar contract he wants. Very surprised to see Tampa getting a 1st (in a supposed amazing draft) and 2nd round pick doe. NYR probably wins this trade short term, but Tampa wins this in the long run.

Yeah. Even if they don't resign Callahan, getting a 1st and a 2nd for a 38 year old midget is a good deal. On the flip side, for the Rangers, you can make a push or you can piddle foot around for years and not do anything.

Was at the Verizon Center last night.. Capitals fans seem to be the friendliest/most depressed group of fans for a 'rival' I've ever seen.

Yeh. Not a $300 one from BearDown, though. Caps fans just seem to be nicer than Rangers/Flyers/Devils fans, granted it felt like it was 50/50 in the building and around DC.

James Neal out again with a concussion this time. Penguins have missed 391 man games this year. Detroit is 2nd with 281. Pretty impressive year by the Pens or either the Metrosexual division is turrible.

Flyers vs Pens is looking like the playoffs a couple of years ago. Wonder if Pens go full mong here and load up on PIMs.

I wonder when the Pens lose in 6 to the Habs in the 1st round if Mario will step in and fire Bylsma or he gets to play the 'injury' card.

Anyone know how the playoff seeding works? I know the top 3 in each division get in but I'm lost after that.
Isnt based on your division and not your conference? Fucking Kaner. I think I would have rather the Hawks get shitstomped last night, then to see Kaner go down for a injury for three weeks.

It's top 3 in each division, plus then the next 2 in the conference.

Google was my friend anyway.

Top division winner in each conference plays the final wild card. 2nd division winner plays the other WC team. 2nd in one division plays 3rd in the other division.

#Leafs and #Blues goalies have identical .916 save%. Only difference is Blues have allowed 800 fewer shots on goal this season

Doing the math, That's about a goal a game.

Malkin is now out for the rest of the regular season. Lawd. I agree the Bruins will come out of the East, but I think the Habs could give them a 7 game series.

West will be one of St Louis, Chicago, Sharks or Ducks.

Bold Picks I know

If I'm doing a playoff draft, I'm jumping on Bruins and then taking one of those 4 teams that doesn't get picked clean in my next picks

No love for the Avalanche? :crying:

No seriously, they probably lose in the first round to the Blackhawks.

Their defense is bad. They are top 5 (bottom 5 whichever way you want to look at it) in shots allowed. It all lies on Varlamov's shoulders.

Yeah, I know. Varly has been amazing this year, too. With some weird stats. He allows fewer goals when he faces 30+ shots. Go figure.

The positives are that the Avs have some good defensive forwards to compensate for the defense being bad. And then the bottom 3 defensemen are really bad, so if they can put together a competent defenseman or two to add to their team, they could be pretty solid next year.

One Dman that would have helped a few teams at the deadline is little known Mike Weaver. He had positive possession numbers with Florida. Montreal picked him up for a 5th.

The first game of the year is the only time he's ever done something like that (as an NHL coach  ). I'm pretty sure most coaches don't want to mess with Roy. He's friggin crazy.

Lots of rumors/speculation that Bylsma will be fired within the next week. I don't buy it, he'll go in the off-season, but it's worth a dream.
