Season Preview

Offense should not be an issue for Oklahoma State this season with quarterback Mason Rudolph and wide receiver James Washington leading what should be a prolific attack whether the Cowboys decide to throw or run the ball. The defense returns only five starters, but it’s not short on athleticism and the coaching staff is optimistic about the unit’s potential. Oklahoma State has some tough tests, but the schedule for the most part should only help the Cowboys stay in the thick of the Big 12 race.

2013 Recruits

Travis Williams
Cocoa, FL
#479 ( #24 T)
:star::star::star:
OVR:73 (+2)
Every team is built up front. The signing of Williams helps the Cowboys do just that. New head coach Adrian Fuqua hopes to sign 4 top tier OL recruits this off-season. Williams has decent size (6'3 327) for run blocking but will need to work on his footwork for pass blocking. Will redshirt and likely be a 4 year starter after that.

Nathan Horne
East Point, GA
#1213 ( #46 FS)
:star::star::star:
OVR:71 (+5)
Horne was overlooked due to not starting as a sophomore and getting injured part way through his Junior season but has really started to open eyes during his Senior season. The Cowboys were on his trail early due to a a heads up from former players. UNC and Navy were late offers to Horne but he decided to stay loyal to his first offer from Okie State. During high school, Horne got away with being a better athlete than his competition, at the next level he will need to improve his technique and knowledge but he has a bright future ahead of him.

Marco Ellis
Glenpool, OK
#3 ( #1 ATH)
:star::star::star::star::star:
OVR:75 (-4)
top150.png

Ellis earned the "#1 athlete" ranking after his stellar Junior season while being a monster on both sides of the ball, but during the offseason he let the "#1 ranking" go to his head a little bit and hasn't performed quite as well this season. Ellis is more of a natural as a WR but the team is pretty deep at the position. Ellis will enroll early and will be used on both sides of the ball during spring ball to see where he is more needed.

Scott Jacobs
Grapevine, TX
#226 ( #45 WR)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:69 (-1)
The Cowboys signed a legit deep ball threat for the future in Jacobs. At 6'6 220 he will have the size advantage over most DB's. Jacobs has good straight line speed (94/80) but will need to develop his quickness off the ball in order to get separation and be more than just a deep ball threat. The Cowboys had 4 freshman redshirting right now which could be somewhat of a log jam, but with Jacobs speed, he should see the field early after his redshirt year.

Michael Graves
Bloomfield, MI
#377 ( #40 DE)
:star::star::star:
OVR:73 (+2)
Graves is a little undersized height wise for what most teams would like in a defensive lineman(5'11 270), especially a DE, and he doesn't have the speed most would like (73/70) for that position, so he will likely be moved to DT depending on the rest of the recruiting class. Graves is a state champion wrestler with good hips and good hands. He has a toughness that doesn't show up on the recruiting sheet that is much needed on this team.

Garret Bates
Indio, CA
#433 ( #23 G)
:star::star::star:
OVR:78 (+7)
gem.png

The goal for each recruiting class is to sign a minimum of 2 OL of 70+ caliber. Bates didn't hit his growth spurt until after his junior year of high school which is why he went highly unrecruited. Missouri tried jumping in late but Bates was loyal to his first offer. Bates looks to be a possible 3-4 year starter.

Shawn Washington
Jackson, MS
#155 ( #16 HB)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:78 (+7)
gem.png

The crown jewel has committed to Oklahoma State. Washington has has blazing speed (95/94) and already has the school getting ready for his Heisman campaign. Head coach Adrian Fuqua said that Washington reminded him of himself coming out of highschool, small, powerful and fast. The coaching staff will be chomping at the bit to get him on the field but may have to wait a year for his academics to clear.

Oliver Lane
Fort Sill, OK
#84 ( #7 HB)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:79 (+6)
top150.png
gem.png

Word go out early on Lane that he was a life long Cowboy fan, which resulted in no other schools giving him an offer. Lane won't burn anybody for long runs on the outside, but he is a very effective runner between the tackles. The combination of Washington's speed and Lane's power will give the Cowboys a good thunder and lightning for the coming years.

The Offence will have an all new look in 2014 with only 5 returning starters. HB Justice Hill will lead the deep stable of running backs in a much more run heavy offence this season. The real battle in the beginning weeks will be at the QB position between Senior Taylor Cornelius(89 OVR) and Junior John Kolar(84 OVR). Both a decent athletes with Kolar getting the edge in that department. Cornelius has a little better deep ball and a better understanding of the offence at this point. As of now, the coaching staff is leaning towards the more athletic and accurate Kolar due the the inability of stretching the field with the wide outs.
The OL will be a work in progress all season after losing 3 starters and not much for top end talent replacing them. Juniors Tyler Moore (C 90 OVR) and Marcus Keyes (LG 95 OVR) will lead by example and hopefully the others will step up their game to follow.
In only year two, Coach Fuqua hasn't been able to get the speed he needs at WR to have a potent passing attack. After the graduation of Washington, the receivers are very..... meh. Small. Slow. Weak. Coach Fuqua has them working with the OL and TE's as their main job will be run blocking.

The Defence brings back 6 starters but will be starting an entire new secondary. Darius Curry had a great season playing the nickel last year and hopefully brings that up to another level while being on an island at #1 CB. The key to this years Defence will be getting pressure off of the edge with returning All-American Jarrell Owens. What Owens lacks in workout numbers, he makes up for in his knowledge of the game and "motor that doesn't stop". If Owens and Walterscheid can keep pressure from their DE positions it will make life easier on the inexperienced secondary.

Overall the expectations were very high for the 2013 squad and they did not live up to the hype. The 2014 squad isn't expected to be competing for a National Title this season but hopes to ruffle some feathers in the Big 12 and build for the future. AD Mike Holder has assured Coach Fuqua that this will be his only season where a Big 12 Championship is not expected.

2014 Recruits

Doug Williams
Crestwood, MO
#990 ( #50 T)
:star::star::star:
OVR:75 (+9)
gem.png

Williams comes in from a run heavy offense in high school where he was a dominant run blocker. He was largely overlooked by most Power 5 schools until he hit a growth spirt where he grew 6 inches and put on 60lbs between his junior and senior seasons. Williams is still getting used to his new size (6'5 332) and is a little clumsy with his pass blocking footwork, but after his redshirt year he will look to contribute immediately. The coaching staff is always excited to sign lineman early.

Cedric Robinson
Palm Bay, FL
#584 ( #31 T)
:star::star::star:
OVR:72 (+3)
If you ask any coach, they will tell you that you can never have too many good lineman. Robinson won't start right away but he adds very good depth and will make it so recruiting efforts can move to other positions next season. Robinson may may possibly move to Center during spring ball depending on the rest of the recruiting class.

Keenan Davis
Live Oak, TX
#262 ( #16 CB)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:74 (+3)
Davis brings in some much needed athleticism to the secondary. Will be a contributor to special teams after his redshirt year and then move in to the nickel position after that. Also had late offers from Texas and Nebraska, but his Dad and Uncles all played for Oklahoma State so he decided to not make the holidays weird by keeping the pistols firing.

Rod Weldon
Noble, OK
#2 ( #1 ATH)
:star::star::star::star::star:
OVR:81 (+2)
top150.png

Weldon officially puts Oklahoma State on the map for future title contenders. Weldon has the size (6'2 217), speed (86/89), and arm strength (89/84) to be a true difference maker. Weldon will redshirt and let Kolar finish off his senior year next season before being given the reigns to the offence. Weldon's only offer came from Oklahoma State despite having interest in Oklahoma and several SEC schools. Weldon is the new unofficial recruiting specialist as he is working on getting other playmakers to sign with the Cowboys.

Kirby Anderson
Pecan Grove, TX
#1465 ( #101 OLB)
:star::star::star:
OVR:70 (+7)
gem.png

Anderson adds some much needed depth the the LB core. The coaching staff will look at possibly moving him to the inside during spring ball depending on how the recruiting class shakes out. Had offers from Mississippi State and NC State but Anderson wanted to play in the toughest conference in football.

Rodney Long
Jollyville, TX
#379 ( #25 CB)
:star::star::star:
OVR:72 (+2)
Decent CB with decent size, speed, and coverage skills. Nothing flashy but will get the job done when called upon.

Jon Davis
St. Matthews, KY
#577 ( #31 G)
:star::star::star:
OVR:73 (+4)
Davis is a likely candidate to be moved to Center during spring ball. He will take his redshirt year to learn the new position and likely be a 4 year starter after that. Davis is another no frills recruit but it is always great to add another lineman.

Brandon Spicer
Estelle, LA
#377 ( #33 DE)
:star::star::star:
OVR:75 (+5)
Spicer is excited for the chance to play right away next season. With 5 senior DE's leaving and only 1 suitable replacement, somebody is going to be starting as a true freshman. If Spicer doesn't win that spot he will likely be moved to DT due to his lack of speed and quickness off the edge.

Andy Johnson
Jennings, LA
#972 ( #59 MLB)
:star::star::star:
OVR:69 (+4)
MLB has been a large position of need the past 2 seasons without much luck. Johnson fills a hole but doesn't have the top end starter talent that the Cowboys are looking for, yet. What Johnson does have is incredible speed for a MLB (85) that should help him on special teams. He will take a redshirt year to hopefully keep improving but the team will keep recruiting MLB's in hopes of finding an overlooked gem to step in right away.

Rodney Stone
Houston, TX
#343 ( #30 DE)
:star::star::star:
OVR:74 (+4)
Stone will be a January enrollee looking for a chance to play starting day 1. Stone has the size (6'6 244) to be a day 1 starter but is still raw. The coaching staff has it work cut out for them on the D-Line next season as they graduate 6. The previous coaching staff failed to build a DL for the future. An OLB may be needed to move to DE during spring ball if Stone or Spicer don't impress the coaching staff enough. With that move, one of the current DE recruits will likely be moved to DT to shore up future needs there.

Eli Schmidt
Blackwell, OK
#1537 ( #7 FB)
:star::star:
OVR:75 (+5)
Schmidt is a lifelong Cowboy fan and continuing his education at Oklahoma State has been a lifelong dream. Fullback isn't a position of necessity for the Offence but it is always nice to keep a local kid home and not have to use a TE or OG as a fullback.

Benjamin McLaughlin
Wagoner, OK
#270 ( #17 OLB)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:78 (+6)
gem.png

Benny took his one and only visit early and that's all he needed to give his commitment to Oklahoma State. OLB was not a huge position of need but McLaughlin was too good to pass up. McLaughlin has a work ethic that is untouched, he was disappointed by his initial 4 star rating and devoted his offseason to getting stronger and faster and has made great gains so far. Benny will redshirt during his first season due to depth in front of him and then likely be a starter the year following.

Anthony Lee
Long Branch, NJ
#394 ( #78 WR)
:star::star::star:
OVR:72 (+5)
Lee is the first real legit deep threat to sign with Oklahoma State under Coach Fuqua. Lee will redshirt to work on his hands a little bit but will be an automatic help for stretching the field after that. Lee had no other offers and mainly wanted to play in the toughest conference in college football.

Brad Toth
Clinton, OK
#595 ( #27 T)
:star::star::star:
OVR:68 (-1)
Toth is a decent homegrown prospect who will hopefully develop for the future.

Hill was a late find out of Arizona. Has decent speed (90/85) and ok coverage skills (78/82/80).

Scott Baker
Ft. Campbell North, KY
#1238 ( #79 G)
:star::star::star:
OVR:69 (+4)
Baker is another depth signing along the OL.

Leonard Harris
North Canton, OH
#410 ( #40 DE)
:star::star::star:
OVR:62 (-5)
Harris was mainly signed in hopes of adding Ohio as a pipeline state. Harris will try switching to DT and will mainly be a practice partner.

Gerrod Perkins
Willoughby Hills, OH
#773 ( #85 DE)
:star::star::star:
OVR:70 (+3)
Another Ohio recruit helping bolster the future pipeline. Perkins will take some time to develop in the weightroom and possibly work his way to a backup role in the future.

Mario Smith
Xenia, OH
#877 ( #97 DE)
:star::star::star:
OVR:62 (-2)
Smith looks the part of a big time DE at 6'5 262, but has yet to show it on the field. Smith is another DE who will try switching to DT and likely be a practice squad guy for his career.

Kasey Miles
Searcy, AR
#156 ( #33 ATH)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:77 (+6)
gem.png

Miles was a two way player in High School and his position for next season is still in the works. He has good speed (90/92), a decent arm (80/83), and great coverage skills (81/85/86). His natural position is CB, but the use of his speed at QB would be electric. If he goes the QB route, he will need to sit a couple seasons behind Weldon, if he goes the CB route he could find the field early.

Lynn Whitaker
Live Oak, TX
#87 ( #1 SS)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:75 (-2)
top150.png

SS wasn't a great position of need, but when you can sign the #1 player at his position, you take it. Whitaker has great speed (94/91) but will need to build up his size (5'10 171) in order to play close to the LOS. Whitaker will redshirt and likely be a key #2 for a year before likely being in a starting role.

Erik Lewis
Miami, OK
#716 ( #33 T)
:star::star::star:
OVR:78 (+1)
SOJucoIcon.png

Lewis took an an extra year in order to qualify academically. Talent wise, Lewis has what it takes to play Power 5 football, the question will be if he can stay academically eligible for his career to make an impact. Lewis will take a redshirt year and hit the books hard with tutors and hopefully get his grades in order.

Matt McClellan
Henderson, TX
#474 ( #42 DE)
:star::star::star:
OVR:74 (+4)
McClellan has the speed to be a difference maker coming off the edge in the future. He has a motor that makes NFL scouts get tight in the crotch about. McClellan will redshirt behind a deep DE group and look to crack the lineup soon after.

Travis Burton
Abilene, KS
#1615 ( #116 OLB)
:star::star:
OVR:69 (+7)

Burton played Safety in High School but will move to a more fitting role at Linebacker in college.

Shannon Johnson
Mishawaka, IN
#806 ( #49 CB)
:star::star::star:
OVR:69 (+3)
Has decent size and speed for a CB. Will redshirt and work his way up the depth chart. Had a late offer from Ohio State but decide to stick with his first offer from the Cowboys.

Matt Meyers
Benbrook, TX
#82 ( #11 HB)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:74
top150.png

Meyers has blazing speed (96/90) and will also complete on the track team. Had initial interest in going to a Big Ten school but failed to attract any attention. Will likely redshirt and play a role as a returner before getting a chance to contribute in the backfield.

Darryl Williams
Dallas, TX
#201 ( #6 FS)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:78 (+3)
The signing of Williams was a big position of need for the future with the only 2 FS being Juniors. Williams has good speed and isn't afraid to play close to the LOS and lay a hit. Williams will redshirt and then step in to a starting role as a freshman.

Nate Samuel
Garden City, GA
#279 ( #21 OLB)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:77 (+3)
The coaching staff is excited about the looks at Samuel at first glance and think he has the tools to become something special with his speed (88/84). Samuel played a hybrid SS/LB in college but will likely play OLB for the Cowboys.

Terrance King
McKeesport, PA
#227 ( #14 DT)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:77 (+4)
King was a nice find out of Pennsylvania and will be a nice fit in the middle of the DL. Will likely play in a reserve role.

Luke Jackson
Hampton, VA
#257 ( #13 QB)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:76 (+3)
Jackson has been a lifelong Cowboy fan and long time Oklahoma resident until his father's job moved him to Virginia for his senior year. Luckily the move didn't change his mind of his favorite team. Jackson has a decent arm (84/81) and decent speed (84/81). Jackson knows he will likely be a back-up for a few years before getting a chance to play depending the rest of the recruiting class.

Bryan Carpenter
North Chicago, IL
#1882 ( #113 T)
:star::star:
OVR:67 (+6)
gem.png

Carpenter is a project out of Illinois that was mainly signed for depth. Showed great improvement from his Junior to Senior year.

Kevin Horton
Murray, UT
#1023 ( #61 G)
:star::star::star:
OVR:68 (+1)
Horton is another depth signing for the OL. Could possibly move to Center in the future.

Justin Fine
Amherst, OH
#870 ( #133 WR)
:star::star::star:
OVR:69 (+5)
Fine shoes good promise to be a future contributor. Has good size (6'2 184) and decent speed (92/89).

Eric Dunbar
Mayfield Heights, OH
#67 ( #2 QB)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:79 (+2)
top150.png

The hard work put in by the coaching staff to develop Ohio as a new pipeline state has finally paid off with the signing of Dunbar. Dunbar doesn't have breakaway speed but has good escapability from the pocket. He has an arm that could develop to 'elite' in the near future (89/87).

Neal Woods
Cleveland, TN
#1416 ( #94 G)
:star::star::star:
OVR:74 (+9)
gem.png

Woods hit a growth spurt between his Junior and Senior year which caused his stock to rise dramatically. From the looks of his dad and uncles he still has room to add weight to his 6'4 273 lb frame. Woods adds much needed depth for the future and won't take long for him to crack the starting lineup.

John Forte
Lodi, NJ
#941 ( #32 FS)
:star::star::star:
OVR:72 (+4)
FS was a huge position of need this recruiting round after not being able to sign any the past few season. Forte will enroll early but still redshirt. Due to the lack of future depth, Forte will likely be a 4 year starter after his redshirt year so he will need to be brought up to speed quickly.

Lee McFadden
Mason, MI
#396 ( #52 ATH)
:star::star::star:
OVR:76 (+8)
gem.png

McFadden has the build (5'11 202) for a future at running back but the backfield is a little deep right now to crack the lineup. If he wants to get on the field early, it may need to be in the defensive backfield.

Samuel Wheatley
Taylor, MI
#227 ( #11 T)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:68 (-4)
Will provide good depth for the future. May possibly move to Center or Guard depending on future signings. Also had offers from Texas A&M and Iowa.

Ryan Jackson
Big Spring, TX
#236 ( #12 CB)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:77 (+4)
Will likely slide in and play nickel for a few years before getting his chance on the outside. Has good size/speed and amazing coverage skills(88/87/90) for a true freshman.

Derrick Washington
Weatherford, OK
#721 ( #38 MLB)
:star::star::star:
OVR:76 (+8)
MLB has been a giant position of need in recruiting for the past several seasons and the Cowboys have finally found one. Was planning on pursuing a collegiate career in wrestling but hit a growth spurt before his senior year which got the attention of football scouts. Washington doesn't have the top end speed most teams would like in the middle but he will primarily be asked to be a run stopper.

Nick Robinson
Whitehall, OH
#13 ( #8 ATH)
:star::star::star::star::star:
OVR:78 (+1)
top150.png

Robinson has the speed (93/88) to be a difference maker at QB or a very serviceable running back. If he wants to play QB he is going to need to work on his arm (81/79). The current Cowboy offence has gone away with running the QB in favor of the deep ball. Time will tell where Robinson ends up.

Tyrone Chavez
Bay City, MI
#188 ( #8 OLB)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:77 (+2)
OLB wasn't a position of need but Chavez and his speed(85/92) were too much to pass up. There is a logjam right now at OLB but the coaching staff will do a little re-adjusting between OLB, MLB, and DE to try and get this guy on the field soon.

Andrew Franz
Dyersburg, TN
#746 ( #61 ATH)
:star::star::star:
OVR:71 (+6)
gem.png

Scouts are unsure where Franz will play at the next level. In High School he was asked to play WR and DB and never really focusing on 1 spot. While at the Oklahoma State camp this summer the DB coaches fell in love with him and project his grade much higher than the national average.

Orlando Robertson
Twinsburg, OH
#917 ( #51 G)
:star::star::star:
OVR:71 (+3)
Robertson was shocked when the first thing the coaches told him was that he will likely never play a down at Guard for the Cowboys. Instead, he will most likely be moved to Center or Tackle depending on the rest of the recruiting class. He has the frame and the footwork to be a Tackle, and the smarts to be a Center. Also had an offer from Stanford but choose Oklahoma State to play with former rivals from High School.

Jimmy Pruitt
Houston, TX
#201 ( #40 WR)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:72 (+2)
Pruitt isn't any thing flashy put he will be a good #2 or #3 WR for the future.

Carlos Harrison
Shawnee, OK
#260 ( #52 WR)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:68
Late addition to the recruiting board. Signed to help with depth. Harrison wanted to stay home and play for his fathers alma mater. Has decent speed (93/83) and is a hard worker which will help him develop in to a future role player.

Great stats for all seasons but those INT's though.....especially the QB who threw 34 of them. Is Pistol your default offense?

Rob Taylor
Borger, TX
#267 ( #12 T)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:74
Solid addition start to the 2019 class. In order for this team to compete with the best, the offensive line has to be top notch. The signing of Taylor helps solidify depth and adds a future starter. Taylor has the size (6'4 332) to compete right away, but will need to develop more of a mean streak to be a punishing run blocker. Will redshirt and then look to be a 4 year starter depending on the rest of the recruiting class. Choose Oklahoma State over offers from Washington and Iowa.

Derek Hunt
Portland, TX
#199 ( #13 DT)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:77 (+3)
Hunt is a big run stopper who will look to plug up the middle. Don't expect any big sack numbers from Hunt as his main job will be to eat up double teams to free the Linebackers. Will redshirt and then play in primarily be a reserve for 3 fronts and be DT#2 for 4 fronts.

Josh Fuller
Coolidge, AZ
:star::star::star::star:
#254 ( #36 ATH)
OVR:73 (+3)
Has the tools to become a great read option quarterback with his size (6'3 208) and speed (90/90). Could possibly get on the field sooner if he goes the WR route. Fuller drew late interest from Texas A&M but in the end, decided to stay with his first offer from the Cowboys.

Matt Carroll
Hugo, OK
#179 ( #3 FS)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:73 (-1)
Nothing flashy or real exciting about Carroll. Will add good depth to a already young FS squad. Will likely have to earn his keep on special teams for awhile before finding the starting lineup.

Adam Bell
Rose Hill, VA
:star::star::star:
#493 ( #3 K)
OVR:84
Bell is an above average kicker with 85 power and 85 accuracy. Will move to Punter for a year and take a redshirt while Collier takes over kicking duties for his senior year.

Paul Holmes
Abilene, TX
#131 ( #4 T)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:78 (+2)
top150.png

With 5 seniors graduating, the offensive line is a big priority for the Cowboys this recruiting season. The signing of Holmes gets that off to a good start. Holmes is a great all around talent with no weaknesses. He has the size and footwork to be one of the better offensive lineman that Oklahoma State has ever seen. There are rumblings that Holmes could push for playing time as a true freshman, which has this years backups picking it up a notch on the practice field and in the weightroom. Holmes had offers from nearly every school in the south but decided on the Cowboys playing in the always tough Big 12 as being the deciding factor.

Jason Smith
Fort Stockton, TX
#1201 ( #5 FB)
:star::star::star:
OVR:78 (+3)
Smith comes in with great blocking abilities. He could possibly move to TE or play H back in the future. If Smith stays at FB, he will redshirt and then move in to the starting role as a 2nd year freshman. Smith's only other offer came from Colorado State.

Terrell Johnson
Jenks, OK
#226 ( #16 DT)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:76 (+3)
Johnson will join the future log jam at DT. Will likely be a rotational player for quite some time before seeing significant playing time.

Clint Baker
Woodway, TX
#2045 ( #166 HB)
:star::star:
OVR:75 (+7)
JRJucoIcon.png
gem.png

Even with the great history at running back for the Cowboys, they have struggled to sign a good replacement the last couple of years, which brings in the need to go looking at the local JUCO level. Baker will be a serviceable backup when needed. Has good speed (93/87) and isn't afraid to run between the tackles.

Jerome Graham
Beech Grove, IN
#217 ( #8 SS)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:77 (+3)
Graham doesn't have the top end speed (80/89) to be a true difference maker in the Big 12 as a starting SS but should be ok filling the role as a #2 after his redshirt year. Could possible move to LB as he plays very well close to the LOS.

Brad Duckett
Johnstown, PA
#853 ( #7 K)
:star::star::star:
OVR:80 (-1)

Brian Jenkins
Medford, NY
#230 ( #15 OLB)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:72 (-2)
Has the size (6'5 235) and speed (82/89) to be a difference maker in the future. The question is at what position. Jenkins will possibly be moved MLB or DE depending on the rest of the recruiting class.

Scott Lester
Muscle Shoals, AL
#167 ( #9 OLB)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:74 (-1)
Lester brings in added speed (84/98) to the linebacking core.

Anthony Bryant
Grand Ledge, MI
#248 ( #10 MLB)

Marcus Warren
Pecan Grove, TX
#18 ( #1 QB)
:star::star::star::star::star:
OVR:78 (-1)
top150.png

Warren comes in to a deep competition at QB which will give him the chance to sit a year (or 3) and learn, depending on who and when leaves early for the draft. Warren also comes in with a cannon for an arm (90/81) but may need to work on his accuracy a little bit. The next step for the Cowboys is getting some targets for Warren to show off that cannon.

Alex Hicks
Santa Fe, TX
#64 ( #5 HB)
:star::star::star::star:
OVR:77 (+3)
top150.png

Hicks looks to be the next in a long line of great Cowboy running backs. Hicks has decent speed (92/91) but what really gets the coaches excited is his size and ability to run through tacklers. Hicks will redshirt and look to contribute on PR/KR as a freshman and then step in as a sophomore starter in the backfield.

Anthony Lyles
Stafford, TX
#327 ( #33 DE)
:star::star::star:
OVR:74 (+3)
Lyles' father and grandfather played for Okie State so the decision to sign wasn't a big shock. Anthony doesn't have the measurables most teams would look for in a DE converting to DT (6'0 220) or the speed to be a smaller sized pass rusher. Lyles will fill in as depth and possibly find a spot in the future despite not having the features of a typical Cowboy speed rusher off the edge.
