eh I'm down on corch Pete. I think he is a good head corch but I feel like his offense has gone the way of tedford. reel e got away from the run game and is doing all of this spread shit and it ain't his specialty. I think he would have been a great hire 5 years ago. not so much now unless I see a change in the offense.

don't get the ucla hype. they flopped big against the best PAC teams last year (asu, Oregon, furd) dat offenses looks ugly when they have a bad game. too much balance and no bread and butter. hundley is better than Keith price, but getting similar hype that I don't fully understand.

cal sucks, dirt. corch doesn't care about defense. either they are patient and wait for the offense to gel In a couple years and be content with 7-5 to 9-3 like leach, or just go ahead and get rid of dykes now.

Stanford still has pieces on D and no matter how boring hogan is he is going to find out a way to convert anything under 3rd and 6th when they need it. it's insane.

i think the thing is wide open this year unless Mariota goes god mode. think this is the weakest Oregon squad in a while and they are done coasting through the conference minus Stanford and USC. they literally never had close games against anymore but those two for 4+ years. that's over I think.

fuck Todd graham.

Oregon state, wazzu, USC are gonna throw wrenches in shit.

Oregon and Stanford are probably still the best but not nearly as clear cut as recently.

doh

THANK YOU Dermott McHeshi
I wish Karl Dorrell was still at UCLA so I could just post "This is Karl Dorrell Football" and link to the 2007 Utah game.

ucla only showed something when asu sat on their hands. then they couldn't convert once they got within a score with plenty of time left in the 4th with all the momentum at home.

the offense was abysmal against Oregon and Stanford. particularly hundley who threw 4 picks.

the last two games were great but there's a team like ucla every year in the offseason whose body of work gets obscured by the bowl game and late season and sexy hot fap corch right now and they typically underwhelm.

that schedule is not kind with road games at Texas and asu to start and drawing Oregon an furd. they have that classic trap game @ wash before closing with USC and furd.

would be shocked if they were anything better than their record last year.

but yeah Myles Jack 2 ways corch JM fap

The Cardinal is going to push everyone's shit I'm.....

their offensive line is better then everyone else's. But they will have at least one let down game.

reason 35-13 at half was Jack only used as a RB that game. Mora admits to this day his biggest mistake as head coach at UCLA.

Would love to see how any other team in the country does going to Stanford and Oregon in back to back weeks.

Our offense was bad against 2 top 10 teams on the road. We obviously suck

At least we scored more than 16 points against Zona

A 5 win Utah threw 5 picks against UCLA and still had a chance to beat them. Sounds like mediocrity to me.

And now apparently Bondurant has decided to man up and face the consequences of his actions. I assume that means he'll be back with the team eventually.

am brick.

Bruins all fired up, but no substance yet. Win something, then talk. The conference, a BCS bowl.....hell, make it to a BCS bowl. You don't even have to win it.

Thus far, you've been the best team in a bad Pac-12 South exactly ONE time. You defaulted into the shampship game in 2011 because we were on probation. You earned it in 2012. You blew it in 2013.

The offense is changing. They didn't bring Prince with them. Jonathan Smith is the offensive coordinator.

I expect the offense they run at UW to look more like it looked last season at UW than what it looked like at BSU last season. A lot more.

The interesing thing is that nobody runs the "classic" BSU offense any more. It was simply too complex. Harsin tried to implement it at Texas and had some success, but still struggled with certain aspects of it. When he went on to Arkansas State he implemented a number of principles, but chose to meld them onto what Malzahn and Freeze had done, rather than go back to the original Boise blueprint.

Pease tried to implement it at Florida, but was even less successful. I don't know if that is all on Pease, because Florida suffered incredible injury problems while he was there and because he was working for a head coach who is basically a carbon copy of Ogre from revenge of the nerds.

I agree with you all though

We have much to prove

UCLA has a lot of talent. It has recruited pretty well for a long time.

Finally you have a coach that isn't a total fucktard. I am not sold on Mora, exactly, but he doesn't have to be awesome to be better than Dorrell or Neuheisel.

Despite the fact I am not exactly high on Mora, I do think he assembled a pretty darn good staff.

It will be interesting to see how the program fares after Hundley is gone.

he needs to coach the offense hisself, was my point. hire dat figurehead OC.

i think he became a program manager type dude once they got kellen moore. he needs to be more hands-on.

i buy that it was more complex, but it was dominant on the ground. doug martin probably has better numbers in the NFL than he did at boise. that is telling. he has no o-line help.

back in the ian johnson/prior days they were a run-first team. they scored 40+ with ease. post moore their offense has suffered because they don't have robo qb anymore and the run game sucked.

I would debate most of your conclusions.

The main conclusion one would draw from any real study of Boise State's offense would be that the QB play the last couple of years wasn't close to what they got under Moore, Zabransky and Dinwiddie.

BSU hasn't really been a "run first" team since 2006.

@bruin228 , who is next in the pipe after Hundley is gone at the end of the year?

Bruins are the sexy pick right now because of their late season performance and Hundley and Jack, (and Mora), but 12+games is a slog.

USC? I'll be happy if we get to 9-3. That's probably optimistic with a brand-new corch who didn't exactly set the world on fire at his last gig.

Asiantii Woulard is the most likely replacement. 4 star dual threat QB from FL. He'll be taking over as a RS SO if Hundley leaves (he will).

Is someone predicting 12+ wins for us?

No - I meant that a 12+ game season is a long slog, and even the best teams will have the inevitable off-game, which often means a loss when you're playing a dangerous opponent. How many times did the Pete Carroll Trojans get tripped up by some shitty-ass team that really had no business beating them, but did anyway because SC was having an off-night? It happened much more often than the times they were able to climb out of that type of hole and escape with a win.

Oh, got it.

Yeah, I was looking through everyone's schedule and it's like almost every game is a tossup in the Pac. Unless you're playing Cal.

As I said before, I think we'll lose to Washington. That'll be our trip up game (though UDub might be better than expected).

Josh Rosen from St. John Bosco will be the starter next year. Unfortunately AW doesn't have it/

Hell, that's the only reason we beat USC in 2009. Then again, that was the tail end of Carroll's final season so that probably played into it too.

Yeah, 2009 was anomalous in the Carroll years. Besides the upheaval caused by the looming specter of imminent sanctions, the team as a whole simply wasn't as talented up and down as teams before. We were starting a true freshman at QB (and one who never lived up to the hype anyway), had just lost four defenders to the NFL, and had also missed on a number of recruits who took their talents to places other than South Beach Central.

But I was talking more about the losses such as to Oregon State in 2008 which kept USC out of the MNC, the shocking loss to Stanford in 2007, the loss to Karl Dorrell in 2006, and Cal in 2003. All games which, on paper, USC should have delivered a pallet of 40-pound boxes of rape, but where the boxes got opened on them instead.

Ah, that Criner catch to win it... good times. I remember someone describing his stumble into the endzone like he was a drunk at last call.
