Now that it has been proven that uf hates black athletes once again with treatment of #justicefortreon...should be easy to takeover in basketball :)

This defense is a work in progress. Big plays against it and very little pressure. Seems like all these years of guys being drafted off our defensive line have finally caught up with us. I am not sure Featherston and Pugh will mature enough to change how this defense works.

True, but our offense getting better. Was wondering who is going to replace KB and Shaw?. Our young WR's is coming along nicely.
Pender and Cook look pretty good.

No question in my mind that legally, it would be best for him to drop out instead of facing that hearing. The problem is what the NFL's perception would be if he did that.

Quitter...Not a strong leader....Can't command a locker room....When things get bad, Winston just leaves....Not a leader of men....Only looks out for himself not his teammates.

Did I miss anything?

A pretty persuasive argument that Jameis Winston's best move at this point is to drop out and prep for the NFL rather than submit to the university witch hunt.

He could take the John Gault approach and not participate, forcing the university to make the decision. If he comes to the conclusion that he should leave FSU, he should make them make the move, so it doesn't look like he left anyone. He could make a simple statement that he has broken no laws, has been charged with no crimes by the state of Florida, so this move by FSU is a witch hunt designed to hurt him, and that he will not participate. Then FSU has to decide if they want to throw away their chance at another national champioship and look bad (to some people) by kicking him out of school for something he has never been charged with. It might be his only way to "look better" by making FSU look like the bad guy...at least a little bit. Denial in the face of apparent truth has worked for tons of high profile people, who continue in their career paths. Owning up to something usually hurts you more. Sad but true.

Is not participating a choice? I'm guessing he gets kicked out if he just doesn't show up.

He can make a statement, like the one I wrote, about how this is a which hunt by the university and he never been charged with a crime, and simply not show up. Then it's up to FSU to kick him out or let him play. If he is willing to leave the university, and the article Mak linked makes a good case for it, then he should go this route. Try and make this about FSU, and not him.

Bleh at this point he probably should just go. I'm sure this autograph thing will blow up. Regardless of how ridiculous the whole rule is. Right now it is the rule.

Well his NFL stock isn't going to be helped if this FSU investigation produces enough evidence to sustain a criminal charge either.

And plus, I'm not sure it's so bad to drop a few spots in the draft. Who wants to play QB in Oakland?

It just seems like he can only hurt himself at this point by participating.

It's a risk. It's always a risk, especially in a case where it was suggested the state didn't exert very much effort in the first place. Especially with a kid who has repeatedly shown some very bad judgment who is going through a sham process without the normal protections in place. Why do universities get to engage in this behavior at all, again?

Even the finding itself could be trouble for him, especially in a civil proceeding.

IDK. If I'm the kid's lawyer, I don't see what he has to gain by submitting to this.

Yeah, he can fall a few spots and the Jets can take him. New York media will eat him alive.

Hate to break up silliness here but his actual lawyer was on tv yesterday. Seems pretty clear he won't let thus hearing actually happen until after season. At which point he will chuck the deuces and leave school for draft.

At which point the G8Rs will return to the Iron Throne of FL

This defense is not going to win us a national championship. It should get us an ACC championship however. But seriously. WTF was with the pass rush? We got any kind of penetration and they just stopped and watched the play develop for a 4-6 yard gain. So annoying to watch all night.

I rarely ever watch ESPN, I purposely don't watch anything about the Heisman, I don't watch FSU play much and highlights have helmets on. I have read a few articles about him, but I don't recall pictures really. Plus, I don't pick up on faces that well anyway (or so I am told by other people I work and live with).

I might know him if I saw him, but I don't really know what the guy looks like off the top of my head. :dunno:

I don't blame the man I don't memorize the faces of thieves and rapists either. Of course maybe FSU shouldn't have married themselves to such an outstanding young man.

21-0 as a starter, heisman, and a national championship. We will take a little heat for his idiocy. Besides, isn't it interesting how controversy always follows the top teams?

Idiocy is not raping a woman and stealing. Idiocy is getting too drunk and sending your ex a dick pic. He is a morally bankrupt individual and I am glad it is your University who will have thier name smeared because of his continued misconduct and not mine.

Rape claim was such a terrible case Meggs wouldnt even bring it to a grand jury. Do you realize how bad that case had to be for him to not even try? Stealing crab legs is idiocy, so is yelling an obscenity.
