Brady Hoke is truly a shitty human being

It's true though. Just a few weeks ago the USC punt returner got hit in the head so hard he couldn't even walk. 5 minutes later he was in the game. Don't act like this sort thing doesn't happen a lot as fucked up as it is.

Was he eventually carted off the field and later diagnosed with a concussion and ankle sprain?

Same people bitching about PlAyEr SaFeTy ITT bitch when there's a penalty thrown for a "good, clean hit" when someone gets knocked the fuck out.

If this is Saban it is a story for two days. Ten years ago people laugh at the guy floundering around on the field and staying in.

It is a very horrible thing, I agree, but this protesting and petition signing shit is over the top and embarrassing imo. It's the fuel for the fire, nothing else.

Just quit acting like it's not about Hoke getting fired so the footbaw program can come back.

And the corch you want, Harbaugh, prolly never does anything questionable handling hurt players. He seems like a level-headed dude that understands if a hurt player needs to take a break.

If you get hit so hard you can't walk for a few minutes you have a concussion. It's not rocket science.

The argument that this is just people out to get Hoke fails when so many of us that question Hoke's decision making have no vested interest in Michigan or Hoke. If you're saying that supporters of other teams are criticizing Hoke because they don't like Michigan, shouldn't these people be supporting Hoke if they want Michigan to continue to suck?

If Hoke had his shit together after the game, or the athletic department had addressed this on Sunday, I would agree with you. But I think the story now is about the gross incompetence in Michigan's athletic department.

Hoke comes out after the game and says Morris has an ankle injury and that's it. He also has some bullshit toughness crap in his press conference. If he comes out and says he fucked up and shouldn't have kept Morris in right there and then, this is over. Hoke even said that the doctors evaulated Morris in the 2 plays he was out ... yeah sure buddy. But Michigan spent 48 hours saying there wasn't a concussion, until our idiot AD contradicted that (after possibly trying to strong arm the doctors into following Hoke's version of events). At this point the story is about how nobody at Michigan can figure out what actually happened. Then you can add the fire about the abortion of a football team/coach Michigan has right now.

And part of all this is the Michigan arrogance. Pretty much every Michigan fan believes we do things the right way, and this whole debacle is just slapping everybody in the face about how it's not true.

How about this. All this goes away if the athletic department comes out Saturday night or Sunday morning and makes a statement about the concussion. Instead, the athletic department goes into PR disaster mode by try to cover up the concussion then not getting the doctors on board have to come out late Monday night announcing a concussion after making the coach twist in the wind during his weekly Monday presser. All while releasing statement after statement dragging the story through the news cycle again and again making the University and athletic department look like a joke.

Then add on: the shitty football team who doesn't look like they want to play, an athletic director who has watched the student season ticket base drop from 24,000 to 19,000 to 13,000, a wait list for season tickets that was, at least, a decade long go to zero in just four years, turning the game experience into a "WOW experience" with so much promotion for other events and in-stadium ads that you wish you were at home so you could change the channel, moving rivalry games in Olympic sports to neutral venues just for more money, telling the band that they weren't going to Alabama game in 2012 unless someone donated 400k for their expenses. I could on and on about the athletic director. The concussion cover-up is the icing on the shitty cake that he's turned the athletic department into.

At this point, the best thing to do is fire everybody and start fresh.

Yeah, I didn't even mention all of the other issues that people have with Brandon. He's basically taken a huge dump on the students in the past 2 years with football and basketball tickets. He took a huge dump on everybody by moving away a home MSU game on the hockey schedule about 2 months ago.

Basically, you have stunning incompetence on this issue plus a lot of fan-unfriendly crap Brandon has put into place in his tenure. That's why people are so upset.

It's not like Hoke has really done all that much anyway. I don't think you need an excuse to fire him.

Winning over Notre Dame a couple years ago is the only important win I can even remember. Don't really watch Michigan often though.

Also, I fucking hate Michigan and want them to suck, but not at the expense of player health and would still like to see a game there(sort of a bucket list thing).

What is this whole Michigan does things the right way? I am glad people believe in their school but let's be real here. Schools do things to win.

If Michigan fans seriously think they do things "the right way" in major college sports, we've learned nothing from Penn State.

I mean, people are upset with Brady Hoke because he didn't do the right thing. That doesn't seem at all like the Penn State situation. Michigan fans are pissed that he did the wrong thing, not that someone said he did the wrong thing.

I'm still trying to figure out how putting a concussed, ankle sprained, and inexperienced QB back in the game is doing things to win.

It's not just about winning. It's about turning boys into men brain-damaged cripples.

Bdub, it's like every other occupation. If you are bad at your job and misuse the internet to email granny, they gon fire you. If you are the company's top revenue generator and you look at kiddie porn all day, they aren't going to care.

Hoke sucks at corching football and now he is proving that he sucks at everything. Yes, they only want him fired because he sucks, but that is typically why people want someone fired. There is really no disagreement to be had here. Show us evidence of other corches putting concussed players back into games and we will add them to the list of shitty human beings.

I mean, I don't want this to sound like tooting my own horn but Beckman started Reilly O'Toole against Nebraska when we needed Wes Lunt to even have a chance.

We didn't even know Wes was hurt until about an hour before the game(Beckman's staff is very buttoned up about injury news). It was a lingering leg injury from a sack against Texas State. Even gimpy Lunt is leagues ahead of O'Toole and 2 years younger. But I don't think we were about to risk our basically franchise QB for a game we might lose anyway.

Yeah, everyone is in an uproar over that GS-15 from the EPA on paid leave for surfing porn all day at work because he was also bad at his jerb. What do you think Joe Biden's activity looks like on the Old Exec Building firewall?

I'm not sure that using Biden as an example of someone being productive/good at their jerb was the best idea, but fuck it.

Of course, I took Illinois and the points thinking Lunt would start.

Honestly, I think Michigan's complete and total mishandling of the events AFTER the game are more insulting to the fans and sport than anything they did Saturday.

Bdub has a point, this happens often in football, far more than it should and far more than is ever publicized. If this game wasn't nationally televised, do we even hear about it? Probably not. Sometimes things get missed and a weird sequence of events happened that forced Morris back into the game. I highly doubt anyone could have anticipated QB1 going out with a head injury, QB2 having to leave for 1 play because of the (idiotic) helmet rule and needing someone to take a snap. Did Hoke completely botch the situation? Absolutely. Call a timeout and get Gardner back in there. Did the training staff completely botch the situation? Absolutely. They have one job and failed at it. It was a total failure by everyone and inexcusable in modern football...

... that said, it would have been a fairly easy fix by Michigan to simply come out and say they fucked up. Immediately. "We mishandled the situation, we didn't realize what had happened and an unfortunate sequence of events occurred that we failed to anticipate. Our number one concern is the health of Shane Morris and he is getting the best medical care we can provide. We apologize to him, his family, his teammates and the fans and supporters of our program for our failure. This will never happen again." The end.

That is all they needed to say. Come out and say they horrifically botched the situation and that is that. It doesn't turn into a week long story and most of all, you don't come off as a bunch of incompetent fools trying to lie your way out of something. Every single person watching that game in the stands or on TV could see what happened, every person who watched a replay knows what happened and Michigan STILL tried to lie their way out of it and throw everyone under the bus. That is far more insulting to Morris, the team, the program and the fans than anything that happened Saturday. The mishandling of the situation Saturday alone probably wasn't enough for Hoke and Brandon to lose their jobs. The mishandling of the situation Saturday combined with the mishandling of the situation in the days after are more than enough for Hoke and Brandon to lose their jobs.

That doesn't even take into account that Michigan is god awful at football, but I care far less about that as a Nebraska fan.

Guys, the bigger deal is the PR about the concussion. Not the actual concussion. Press conferences, statements and whatnot. Michigan brand is hurting.

Good god.

Remember kids, as long as you post a poignant, remorseful hashtagged statement on twitter after you make a mistake, ur brand will survive. And may perhaps even be enhanced.
