I made this exact model back in the day.
I remember being inspired by that old anime show Robotech, where Skull Squadron had livery like this on their planes. I only learned later that VFA 103 (The Jolly Rogers) was a real US Navy fighter squadron.

I think that is still navy blue, but hard to tell.
The old head GT fans always get all upset about Navy Blue because its "not an official school color" lol. Old Gold is the traditional school color which is what the middle uniform is. I guess we started throwing in that Notre Dame gold in some combinations at some point.
