Another rough bowl season (2-7 if we count Rutgers and Maryland; only Nebraska and Michigan State pulled out wins) in the books. Urban Meyer brings in his third consensus top-five class, Tony Franklin fills Coach BoB's shoes, Michigan finally expels their rapist kicker, Mark Dantonio hires Rich Homie Quan as an assistant?

The divisions make sense now. They have names which won't draw ridicule and shame from across the country. Now if the football could follow suit.

East Division
Indiana
Maryland
Michigan
Michigan State
Ohio State
Penn State
Rutgers

West Division
Illinois
Iowa
Minnesota
Nebraska
Northwestern
Purdue
Wisconsin

expelled 3 years later and after all eligibility used up. Seems like a lot of trouble for a kicker.

Iowa get Brasky, Wisky and NW all at home. They do have to travel to Maryland, which is going to be a new experience, but thanks to the realignment, there's no MSU or OSU this year. If the offense can make significant improvements and adequate replacements are found for the 3 stud senior LBs lost, I think they've got a reasonable shot at a spot in the title game. I don't think the above requirements will be met (at least not to the degree needed to get to Indianapolis), but unlike last year, it's not totally unfathomable.

Which is itself a huge improvement.

A-1 From Day 1
I see Sota going 4-4 in conference again. Wins vs Purdue, vs NW, @ Illinois and they'll pull off at least one upset.

I think they can win 4 conference games as well. For some reason feeling that luck will come at NU again.

Im curious to see if they can beat TCU on the road. I may actually go to that game since my sister lives in Dallas. I'll be going to the FSU v OSU game on Aug 30th 2 weeks earlier :D

My way too early preseason BS predictions for the gophers

Eastern IL - W
Middle Tenn - W
TCU - W
SJSU - Lose by 1243
Mich - L
NW - W
Purdue - W
IL - W
Iowa - L
tOSU - L
NU - W
Sconny - L

8-4 regular season

I like following Indiana. If Wilson can just get them to field something close to decent on defense..

They got a new DC so hopefully they'll do at least something there this year.

I see Ws vs. ISU, BGSU, NT, PSU, Rutgers, and Purdue. Maybe Maryland and an upset.

Done.

Buckeye schedule is a step up this year. Navy is never a cake walk but it is made a little easier by being the season opener. The theme of the schedule this year is pretty heavy on the East Coast - two trips to the state of Maryland plus Rutgers and Virginia Tech at home. Considering the high number of recruit targets in that region this season for Ohio State that should be a good thing.

In terms of record anywhere from 12-0 to 8-4 seems reasonable. How quickly the offensive line (replacing four starters) can gel and if the defense can be better than complete dumpster fire against the pass will determine which direction it goes.

I'm guessing 10-2 with a loss to MSU, and a home game we're favored in. losing at home to UM would be a surprise.

Rutgers announced they are playing Washington in 2016 and 17. They were supposed to play UCLA those years, but it got pushed back to 2020-21.

Rutgers Mike

Dr. Sad
Do you blame UCLA?
Well Ucla scheduled Daddy those years after the RU deal was made, so I think a little, but blame isn't the right word since Washington is basically an equal replacement. Rutgers isn't recruiting in Washington or California so it's just about having an attractive OOC game on the schedule.

I'm going to laugh when Wes Lunt doesn't win the starting job and Reilly O'Toole leads us to a Rose Bowl trip.

Watching the MSU spring game and they have BCS stickers on the back of their helmets. Are they just trolling?

"Sprinkle was charged with rioting and failure to disperse as well as cocaine possession—we'll get to that part—at the Grown & Sexy Lounge in Lorain."

Most hardcore paragraph ever.
Has the world come so far that a good old fashion riot is frowned upon.

Are they bringing back the red helmets?

No.Probably wouldn't see any uniform changes until a coaching change is made.

Hopefully they use these helmets on the road again

Also the Scarlet Knight mascot is getting a makeover. Hopefully he stole some of Sparty's steroids.
