2066-67 Off-Season

THANK YOU Dermott McHeshi
Trying to move these guys for cheap:

LF/RF Baz Ubaydah: http://utopia.allsimbaseball9.com/game/lgreports/players/player_5676.html -- 3.7 WAR the last two years before 1.3 this year... going to make under a mil in arb. Will trade very cheap.
1B/2B Roderick Gale: http://utopia.allsimbaseball9.com/game/lgreports/players/player_4246.html -- Will hit somewhere but not field great at 2B (can play 1B). Will give away for free/cover salary/attach picks depending on package.
SS Yoichi Sano: http://utopia.allsimbaseball9.com/game/lgreports/players/player_4890.html -- All glove , no bat but could be a valuable defensive replacement/vs. LHP SS.
2B Fogarty Jaggar: http://utopia.allsimbaseball9.com/game/lgreports/players/player_5977.html -- OK glove, solid RH bat. Could be a solid regular at the minimum.
C Thomas Barbe: http://utopia.allsimbaseball9.com/game/lgreports/players/player_12610.html -- Good glove, RH power bat. Could be a decent platoon catcher.

Give me $13M and I'll release Gale for you.

Can I get my park factors changed to be more neutral? And does that affect wall distance and height? Our LF line is 340' with a 15' wall while our RF line is 328' with a 7' wall. Preferably, I would like to have both lines around 335' with a 7' wall, and maybe keep a little deeper left center, but I'm fine with anything that would make us more neutral.

You just reminded me - time for me to change my park factors too.

walls don't matter, they're just for looks. Well they used to be.

I think you're right.
From the OOTP 17 guide:
Ballpark Dimensions

The Ballpark Dimensions section describes the size of the selected ballpark.

. Ballpark dimensions are purely cosmetic! It's the ballpark factors that actually influence the game engine. That is, making a ballpark with a 500-foot center field won't make it any harder to hit home runs to center if the home run factors are still 1.000.

But there is one thing I did forget to ask for; can I get my ballpark type changed to Retractable Roof?

Are there any positives to having an O sign your scout as opposed to signing your own? I understand when guys want a former player or whatever that someone might not be able to sign, but are there any other reasons? Cheaper maybe?

Oh...so uh.....I signed my own scout when I first started back in '58. But it's cool, don't worry about it.

We give them long cheap contacts and make sure their ratings are at least at a certain level. I didn't even know you could sign your own since personnel is turned off.

Go to the WBL drop down > reports and info > available personnel (very bottom). And from there, you can sign your own.

Yeah that's the same place I go to find them for other people. Interesting. I'll check your scout and make sure he is rated high enough.

The O's will make sure their attributes are equalized with all the others
Adding signing your own scouts as an option would be fun though to see if it mattered and how much teams would spend on it.

In the old days that was a theory of mine of one reason why our budgets were all off by so much. We don't sign coaches/scouts so that whole segment is missing.

Yeah it's not much. I think just having a world where you can buy the best scouts or save that money on other stuff would be interesting. When I played solo player a long time ago, I didn't care about minor league coaches at all. I found that the least interesting part of the solo game.

Anyone want to start the trading up? I'm trying to shed some salary and am open for business.

Sounds like you want to keep Ploeg

If the options are either completely set the team back a decade (Tankee offer) or send the one legit stud I have to a team loaded with studs (Quale offer) I'll stick with holding onto the guy that's on the DL taking up over 25% of my budget.
