Good news: TNT won't be doing the Champion's League after 2021

Bad news: CBS will be doing it for the three years after that

What was the last soccer game CBS did? MISL in the 80's?

Hertha are getting absolutely roasted across Germany right now- they put up a fake Berlin Wall across one one of the stadium.

Switching my allegiance to what seems to be the most American Bundesliga team, RB Leipzig

Look, I'm not super comfortable promoting piracy, but none of these companies butchering these broadcasts actually deserve your (or any) money. PM me if you just want to see the damn games.

ESPN+ is actually pretty good though.

Rumored broadcast plans for UCL on CBS:

All games on CBS All-Access.

Select games on CBS. I read that as only the Final.

Fuck. This. Shit.

At least there's still Univision.
The short-sighted moves of putting a sport still growing completely behind a paywall by TNT/now CBS is dumbfounding. How do you build an audience if none of the games are on TV?

Well, this Liverpool game was interesting. Don’t see Salzburg getting two goals. They’ve had their chances.

Salzburg need three now.

Dortmund has to be pissed with Barcelona’s lineup at the San Siro.

Assuming Atletico advancing:

Spain: 4 teams qualified/4 teams in group stage
England: 4/4
Germany: 3/4 (Leverkusen)
Italy: 3/4 (Internazionale)
France: 2/3 (Lille)

Everyone else: 0/13

Gattuso to Napoli, interesting

San Siro will host UCL knockout games for the first time in 6 years! Neither Milan squad will be involved, doe...

PLAY LA BAMBA BABY
Atalanta (from nearby Bergamo, in the metropolitan area) is renovating their stadium this year (too small for UCL) and so the Milan clubs are letting them play their UCL games at San Siro

Ah, I don't keep up with Série A but I guessed Atalanta had something to do with it.

UCL Draw:

Dortmund - Paris
Real Madrid - Manchester City
Atalanta - Valencia
Atletico - Liverpool
Chelsea - Bayern
Lyon - Juventus
Tottenham - Leipzig
Napoli - Barcelona

EL Draw:

Wolverhampton - Espanyol
Sporting - Basaksehir
Getafe - Ajax
Leverkusen - Porto
Kobenhavn- Celtic
APOEL - Basel
CFR Cluj - Sevilla
Olympiacos - Arsenal
AZ - LASK
Brugge - Manchester United
Ludogorets - Internazionale
Frankfurt - Salzburg
Shakhtar - Benfica
Wolfsburg - Malmo
Roma - Gent
Rangers - Braga

The Madrid clubs did not get kind draws at all. I’d really wish Barcelona would play Napoli now, not in 2 months. They are a mess. Incidentally, I saw these two teams in Ann Arbor in August.

Teams still in Europe by country:

England: 7 (4 UCL - 3 EL)
Spain: 7 (4 - 3)
Germany: 6 (3 - 3)
Italy: 5 (3 - 2)
Portugal: 4 (0 - 4)
Austria: 2 (0 - 2)
Belgium: 2 (0 - 2)
France: 2 (2 - 0)
Netherlands: 2 (0 - 2)
Scotland: 2 (0 - 2)
Bulgaria: 1 (0 - 1)
Cyprus: 1 (0 - 1)
Denmark: 1 (0 - 1)
Greece: 1 (0 - 1)
Romania: 1 (0 - 1)
Sweden: 1 (0 - 1)
Switzerland: 1 (0 - 1)
Turkey: 1 (0 - 1)
Ukraine: 1 (0 - 1)

No Russia is a big shocker. France having no teams in the EL doesn’t help them especially with Portugal having 4.

The Champions League draw looks really good. Probably because Atalanta and Valencia drew each other instead of being cannon fodder for the super teams. Lyon - Juve looks like the only snoozer. The rest should be pretty competitive.

I think there's a strong chance Arsenal crash out against Olympiacos. I mean, it's 2 months away, so things could change, but that's a horrible draw for Arsenal. They could easily get crushed in Greece and flame out.
