As always, my poll approach is that being undefeated is being than better defeated. Teams that aren't legitimately Top 10 teams will get worked out by losing. On-field results are what matter; a win is better than a loss, and there's no such thing as a "quality loss" that outweighs a win.

Doesn't apply to rivals?

My polls are definitely the worst. If you track individual teams I keep moving them around despite them still winning.

No, f*** 'em.

It's not just mere winning though. I did a gut check on whether I would rank 7-0 Akron, and the answer is probably not. I think the difference that I'm going to have with some of you is that I think the American (minus ~three teams) is equivalent to a power conference. Definitely the weakest one, just like the Big East was, but still very much in that ballpark compared to the other conferences (ACC and PAC especially). So I don't treat embarrassing ECU as any different than embarrassing Pitt or Cuse or Vandy.

UCF has blown out everybody but one opponent. I don't think USF has blown out anybody though I'd have to go back and look to see what game I'm forgetting.
