Well, that was a pretty boring final day. Jeez.
The back 9 was very boring, but it was pretty interesting until Scottie finished 10. There were 4 guys in the mix, and Scottie's iron play was pretty bad until then. But those 3 straight birdies, combined with the rest of the field shitting down their legs, meant it was over at that point. I guess there was a little drama about whether Scottie would rinse his ball on 12, but that was unlikely to happen.
To that point, I think there is a fake drama at the Masters a lot of years. You get some guy making a charge on the back 9 while the leaders are still on the front. But the reality is the leaders haven't played the easiest holes and are likely to make a couple of shots up from 8-16.
I actually really liked this year. It had the best player in the world winning, the most interesting conditions we've had in a decade, and a stacked leaderboard. Only thing it was missing was Sunday back 9 drama.
